Actually, what he said was...he's going to cut everyone's "rates"....and "eliminate deductions".

In that video, he says that he's going to start cutting rates "at the top" (for the richest people"), and that it will be revenue neutral even without deductions.

quote:

Those deductions benefit the wealthy the most, ergo, taxes for the wealthy will rise slightly, while those in the middle class will receive a slight reduction.

Those who currently pay little or no (federal income) taxes will continue to pay little or no taxes.

But of course, the reason most people pay little or no federal income tax is because of deductions and exemptions. If you get rid of the deductions for children, college eduction, EIC, etc, a lot of people are going to be paying a lot more in taxes, and not just people that can afford to give $1 million to charity. We're going to see a lot of lower and middle class families suddenly having a much higher tax burden.

If you recall the Secretary of State of Florida at the time did her best to make sure that Bush won the election.

And she was a Republican.

Case closed.

The Supreme Court decided.

End of discussion.

LOL for you maybe but there is a solid majority of this country that knows what went on down there counting "chads". Secretary of State of Florida ran that show. Now. that is the end of the discussion. Thanks

Well, I suspect you're right...a majority probably do believe what you just said. In fact, I'm absolutely certain of it.

Those however that actually have a brain (and have the capacity to use it) realize that since Gore won with a clear (and historically recorded) majority, regardless of how many hanging chads, purple chads, dimpled chads, reflective chads, flavored chads, hybrid or even gas or diesel powered chads there were, the fact that he indeed had 1,000,000+ more votes than Bush negates entirely whatever was done in Florida because the Presidency in 2000 was not in any way shape or form decided in Florida, by Florida or because of Florida, but rather, the Supreme Court and by no other source.

And that your vote means absolutely nothing.

And everyone dies due to the cause of lack of breath, anything else notwithstanding.....

The unconstitutional decision by the Supreme Court (who interfered in a state election (unconstitutional) and ordered Florida to certify W even though they felt the results were fraudulent (unconstitutional) because the federal deadline to notify electors would have passed is hijacking law for partisan politics and legislation from the bench.

No disagreement.

But the Supreme Court certified Florida's Electoral Votes (handing the election to Bush), ergo....sum.

Regardless of the election results (which favored Gore), therefore, your vote means nothing.

(And by the way, it was Constitutional....because, the Supreme Court can only vote on Constitutional issues, ergo, the vote met the terms of the Constitution by virtue {because they declared it so}, and, State(s) laws do not have to be Constitutional {but they must pass a Constitutional litmus test....there is a difference}, however, the Constitution gives the States certain rights).

So, ultimately the question was (because Florida had the tipping point electoral votes) "did Florida have the right within the confines of what took place; all the hanging and other chads...to place their ballots as they did, and if so....did it meet the litmus test"....which it did....and so, again, your vote meant nothing.
