People who get arsey when i dont reply to their texts straight away or even that day, or answer the phone when they ring. Like all i do all day is sit in front of my phone or computer waiting for them to contact me. I hate modern technology for how easy it is for people im trying to avoid to pester me.

Apple and most of their customers. I have a phone too but i dont feel the need to tell you how good mine is. There are a few who just get on and use their iphone and i commend you people but the majority cant help but bust out there frickin apps when you're at the pub. If i brought along Scrabble or Mouse Trap to a bar i'd get laughed at but apparently 'draw something' and 'angry birds' is acceptable these days.

Actually this is my pet peeve anywhere. I know I don't have children so I really can't judge but if your child is crying, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! IT'S CRYING FOR A REASON!!! FIX IT!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay - sorry, but I have to say..."IT?" LOL No shit, you don't have children. :)

General reply....I agree that nicer adult restaurants are not the place for babies.

A crying baby/child, though, does not always equate to having to "do something about it." A golden rule of motherhood (for me, anyway) - do not give attention every time the child cries. It might make for a few lessons learned in a more public place than we would choose (and believe me...moms are just as strung out about it as those watching it happen) but it's a necessary lesson.

There's that funny bit by Louis CK, I think - he's talking about how, now that he's a parent, he sees a crying child and a mom in a store and he thinks "What is that fucking shitty kid doing to that poor woman?" LOL

Right there with you. ANd the fucking SCRIPTS.. FFS!!! LISTEN to me!! I have TOLD YOU 5 TIMES already what I have already tried!!!!

On the other end (scripted people who call you not you call them)

I had one call me the other day claiming to be from Microsoft saying my computer was sending them errors - I told her in no uncertain terms that my computer regardless of operating system would not do that without my knowing about it (that I know of): and she promptly hung up on me without even saying bye.

Pet Peeves,

People who spell and say 'prolly' instead of the actual word: p r o b a b l y.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Pet Peeves (10/8/2012 8:41:17 PM)

I do that! And I type n instead of and. But I don't care if ppl don't like it.

Yes! This really, really bugs me!!

First of all, the Microsoft calls are fake. It's not Microsoft. It's someone looking to get your information to defraud you. Second, if you are in public and your child starts crying and screaming to the point that they are out of control and you cannot handle them, leave where you are and either settle him/her down somewhere else or go without your child next time, and yes I have a child who is now a grown adult. Anytime she started acting up in public, I would walk out of where I was and either calmed her down or went home and went another day or found someone to watch her. I just found it very rude to annoy everyone else around me with her incessant tantrum. When she was just a baby, her cries did not mean she just wanted to cry. There was always a reason. Colicky, hungry, tired, hurt, diaper needed changing, rash, heat, cold, illness, fear.

The hype permanently surrounding English sports.
The fact that someone scores a goal & is promptly world class, when he's actually won fuck all can only play with his right foot. but because he plays soccer he is just world class. Bullshit.

Ditto rugby.
Ditto cricket.
Ditto anything really.

And they are usually the folks encouraging them to piss and crap on other people's private property. It's the daily pilgrimage to deposit as much canine excrement as possible in someone else's yard, thus sparing their own.

I think "it" is being gender neutral, as opposed to using "them". [;)] And a shrieking child is noise pollution. Tantrums get removed from the immediate area for the benefit of the listening public. Babies don't "just cry", that's how they communicate.

Parents who ignore child mealtimes and naptimes and drag their cranky kids around? Not people I like.

Mom and I were in some airport, and there was a teeeeny baby in a carrier with that newborn cry, the one where you simultaneously want to pick up the baby and stick a spike in your ear? The parents ignored the poor little one utterly and ate sandwiches. Mom and I sorta/kinda pondered just asking them if we could take the baby off their hands, they obviously weren't interested. Why not, right? We were thinking maybe pay them for the carrier? #jetlagjudgment

I say Pick UP the BABY! Whenever I hear one with that plaintive cry.

I really do not like babies one tiny bit.

more annoyances than pet peeves but I bet most of you will agree with 90% of them.

cbx16v -> RE: Pet Peeves (10/9/2012 1:58:04 PM)

Football and everything about it. Kids become mouthy little brats because of it, they have to put up with the pushy football dad swearing at them on sundays because he's Ref.

My back garden backs on to a school playing field and i have to put up with arsehole dad shouting his head off every sunday morning and i feel like jumping over the fence and telling HIM to kick the god damn ball if its getting him that worked up.

Councils who put metal lumps on outdoor benches, rails, ramps etc to stop skateboarders and BMXer's riding in town. Spoilsports

Zips or buttons on jeans or jackets that have the slidey bit or flap on the right. Confuses the hell out of me.

the friggin ice cream truck that pulls into my cul de sac and sits here playing it's stupid tinny music for 5 minutes, even though there are no customers.
