I use the word cuntbubble to describe those who engender wrath.

Am I the only one who gets mad about that?

No, there have been various other people that have been angry because the unsolicited mails that they sent out were not answered.

I counsel you to when angry to go fishing. Just sit on the bank of a river and watch your float, and watch the water - and your anger - pass. Feel the calm and serenity returning. Watch the flowing river water. It is tranquil and at peace. Or just imagine that you do; that works too.

That's us ladies told, good and proper. We need to do as we're told, because the man said so.

If only I was a domme and could do whatever the hell I wanted, and in doing so, snag myself the finest boy in Scotland...

DaddySatyr -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/11/2012 11:20:12 AM)

I long for the day when ladies understand that they were put here for our use and amusement; to serve at the foot of any man that deems himself a dominant. [/snark]

Peace and comfort,

Michael

DS, your sig reminded me of a seven dwarves joke.

The seven dwarves were in the bath feeling happy. Then Happy got out and they started feeling Grumpy.

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. This is a kink site. If you want to offer travel advice, I'm sure those sites exist, too.

You were in the forces and this is one of the most ridiculous things you've ever heard?

Were you in the "taking everything wayyyy too seriously" corps perchance?

quote:

And if we were on a website dedicated to model trains, would you expect someone to hold discussions with you about all topics other than model trains?
The dissonance here is staggering.

Gosh.. you getting dissonance too? <pondering face>

quote:

Do you reply to the junk mail you get at home?

You know, the pizza places, the insurance companies, etc etc?

You see no difference between mail automatically generated and that sent by a person? If you receive a handwritten note from someone, you read it and don't respond?
When I was in the military, and stationed overseas, schoolchildren would write to us often. The letters would be addressed "any soldier." The penmanship was terrible. The grammar atrocious. We never asked for that sort of attention. I hate kids.
Every single one of those letters was treasured. Everyone in the unit read each one...and while usually only one reply was sent to each, almost everyone signed each one, too.

Firstly... <tips hat> Thank you for your service. And I hope you take the gag about the "wayyyy too serious " corps in the spirit that it was intended. If you've done service in the forces, you're all right by me.

But, no, I really, really don't see any difference between the fucking stupid shit that pours into people's in boxes and the crappy junk mail that falls onto people's doormats. If there is any, it's that the junk mail has probably had more thought put into it.

So you really need to start by getting your head around the fact that not everyone crafts epicly inspiring intro emails such as yours doubtless are. So they get a bit jaded.

I have to say, that I have never noticed anything unusual at all about the number of people that don't reply here, compared with other sites. If anything my reply rate is better here than it was when I lurked on ALT. Now that was some time ago, and I think that I may have got a lot better at choosing who to email in the first place.

I do put some effort into my emails, and I get pretty fair results.

But as for the people that don't reply? Fuck, a lot of the time I say "don't worry about replying if you're not interested, I know you're getting a crap load of email".

It's almost rude to expect a reply in some senses.

If men have a problem with women that won't answer emails because of how your fellow males have behaved....I suggest you take it up with them rather than blaming us for not wanting the abuse that comes with telling someone "No, thank you".

Oh. My neigbor thinks all Mexicans are lazy and shiftless, because he once knew this Mexican one time who fit the bill.
Do you see how both you and my neighbor fail to use reasoning?

Nope, sorry, got to stop you there bro. Now you're failing to use reasoning, and to be honest, it's a little irritating.

If you are clever enough to keep yourself groomed the way you do - you're clever enough to see that this example is specious.

Firstly you're subtly equating not answering emails with racism... which would seem to be over egging your sauce a tad.

Second - and let's change the analogy a little, in order to make it a fuck sight better, and more comparable.

"If your neighbour hated apples, because after eating 7000 of the fuckers he'd discovered that in 6900 cases he was violently sick. Do you see how both you and my neighbor fail to use reasoning?"

Do ya see what I'm saying?

I'm sure none of us will convince you.... which at the end of the day is fair enough.

It could very well be that you have a very much greater sense of manners and good form than I have - and I salute you for it.

But for the love of god please remember this is a kink site.... the ones that don't reply are doing you a favour, because they'll be just the oikish, unmannerly, brutes that you're likely to find unnattractive anyway.

Your local travel agent probably can't tell you when the next local munch is though. They probably don't have a line on the vetting process for play parties or which businesses in the area are kink friendly. People active in the kink community are the best resource for that.

quote:

Truthfully, I'm highly doubtful that people talking about model trains are sending inappropriate messages at the same percentage as what happens on this site.

So, now you are comparing hand written notes from children to electronic messages sent by less than stellar folks on the internet? You couldn't find a better apples and oranges argument with only the word 'correspondence' in common if you tried.

quote:

Oh. My neigbor thinks all Mexicans are lazy and shiftless, because he once knew this Mexican one time who fit the bill.

Do you not see the difference in a singular example rather than thousands of examples? Dude, these people create multiple accounts so they can say nasty stuff after being rejected and blocked under the first screen name.

quote:

Not. At. All. But a woman who politely declines, even just smiles and shakes her head, is a far, far superior person than a woman who looks past you, or turns away without even acknowledging the question was asked.

When a filthy bum on a street corner asks you for a handout, do you blindly stare straight ahead and ignore his existence, or do you say, "No, thank" or even look and shake your head?
Clicking a button is the 'net equivalenet of acknowledging receipt of the message and thereby the sender's existence. It's simply polite.
The system already does that for you. The sender can check the status of any message they have sent. There are only three answers. The first is the date and time the receiver read it if the mail was opened. The second is unread. The third is deleted unread. Electronic mail doesn't get lost and if the intended recipient has blocked you, it won't allow you to send.

I can tell just by the way that you respond to these threads that you do not have a female friend on this site who has ever allowed you to see exactly what happens from her mail. We've had several gentlemen who have created female profiles to see what happens when the friend or female in a relationship with them isn't an option for getting information on the subject. When men get a first hand understanding of the situation, they completely understand why women deal with their mail the way that they do. You might benefit from reading some of the past threads from male originators who have shared their experience of what happened when they started those female profiles. The information is very enlightening.

Titaniya -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/11/2012 1:34:50 PM)

I haven't read through yet, but...

I do my best to respond to every message that actually talks to me about something on my profile. I respond to most one-liners, even, but if the person continually asks the same question (ie, "how r u?" repeatedly a few days in a row), I eventually ignore them.

I ignore people who are asking for something that doesn't fit with the limits on my profile. In another country and ask to lick my feet? You're not getting a response, because I've already told the world how I feel about that particular dynamic/act... on my profile. I'm not ignoring them because of time or because I'm conceited. I'm ignoring them because they disrespected me by ignoring my profile. If I were a switch or submissive, I would still do this.

On a similar note, I usually ignore messages that aren't clearly intended for me specifically. If it looks like a copy/paste message, I'm not going to take the time to respond to the sender like an individual. They didn't do so for me.

I usually tell off people who are just being rude rather than ignore them, but they do get ignored from time to time as well.

In short: If I feel like you're disrespecting me, then I'm not going to spend my time writing you a response. Everyone deserves basic respect. I'm not asking for honorifics, just to be approached with minimal levels of human decency. If you can't do that, I don't feel the need to waste energy playing nice with you.

Killerangel -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/11/2012 1:48:10 PM)

Another thing that happens is that when clueless men write to say "How r u?" and you answer, "Fine", somehow that opens the door for their very next message to be something extremely personal or sexual. It's like ok, they threw out an obligatory greeting, now they can ask if you shave your pubes. I disagree that being on a kink site means you have to expect that people will be, and should be, overly familiar with personal subjects and don't have to observe the usual courteous distance with discussing intimate items with strangers.

Having a profile on a kink site does not mean a person is looking for a partner, and in that case any inquiries would indeed be junk mail and not required to be answered.

BoundSlave4Life -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/11/2012 2:05:36 PM)

So here's my question which I haven't seen you answer.

What about the scores of men that message women with an attempt to start an interaction in hopes for something more than online chat who don't read the profile, or ignore the recipient's "Restrictions"?

ie - Only looking for someone between 30-40 (Someone 53 messages them)
ie - NOT looking for a "Daddy Dom" ("Hey babygirl. I'm a great Daddy Dom looking for my lil girl")
ie - ONLY interested in "Insert Race Here" (Insert tactless race play comment)
ie - OWNED only looking for friends (Hello slave. I'm looking for my perfect slave and I think you're it!)
ie - Not interested in Phone Chat (Here's my Phone number. Call me! ***-***-****)

Do we owe them a response?

Did I REALLY have to respond to this idiot?

****** on 10/10/12 at 8:26 PM:
hey slave I see u recently squirted BIG, but lets meet and see if it can be matched or topped, call me at 443-555-1679.

NO! But I did anyway to be polite!!!!

boundslave4life on 10/10/12 at 9:03 PM:
You should most likely ask my Master about that first.

His response?

**** on 10/10/12 at 10:04 PM:
ok fine, I will ask him and then of course I assume you play with other males. I am not here to "own" you, just make you squirt even BIGGER than that 1. When are you available for a play session?

Does it say anywhere on my profile that I play with anyone else outside of my family? Does it say anywhere on Master's profile that he'll allow random idiots to play with me? NO!!!!
This conversation went on about having me HAVE Master call HIM to talk to HIM about him play with me (Last Night), and when I spelled it out for him real slowly about how HE has to ask Master for anything of the sort he said "ok that is 100% cool my dear, but how do I find your Master???" ... And Master's CM user name is on my profile.

Sooo Do people like that REALLY deserve a response?

sforwomen -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/11/2012 2:10:57 PM)

GreedyTop -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/11/2012 2:13:17 PM)

irrelevant.

get up to speed, please.

Title: Porn and big guy research! Can you help?
The_Big_Idiot 45M

written about 18 hours ago:
Hi there,

Hope you're OK, I'll try and be brief.

I came across your lovely pictures and profile in the very cool 'fetlife' porn group!

I'm doing some, shall we say, 'research' which I'll explain more about, but do have a look at my profile and get back if you're interested and especially if you have a soft-spot for big guys?. There's no photo of me on my profile (have to be careful with work and stuff!) but photos will follow if you're interested.

Anyway, this is just an initial message, I will tell you more and how things'll work - say "hi" if you're intrigued and more than "hi" if you're more than intrigued!

When at the top on my profile it VERY clearly states that I am OWNED, COLLARED and ENGAGED. To say that EVERYONE is entitled to a response is frankly... arrogant, and EXTREMELY ignorant. His "Research" consisted of online play of me worshipping his cock.... Seriously?

If you are in RtS you know EXACTLY who and what I'm talking about. <3 RTS peeps on here!!
