Status: offline 		I've been having a hard time figuring out where the heck it could have come from. I mean, yeah, Obama whuffed the debate, but debates usually don't matter. Then I figured it out.

Obama got a bounce from his convention. Just before it evaporated, the tape of Romney decrying the 47% surfaced, and that killed Mitt's standings. Significantly, as the undecideds took stands, Romney actually LOST support. So he was losing popularity from his own supporters - it wasn't just missing out on the undecideds.

Then the debate happened, and Romney essentially regained the ground he lost due to the video.

My guess is that Romney simply came across as human enough to reassure his bloc, and gained them back to his fold. So it's a wash with regards to the support he lost from the video.

That's my theory, and I'm sticking with it.

I disagree, Steve. Reassuring the bloc was only part of what happened on that debate stage. Aside from the elephant, the only case the President can make for re-election is that the other guy is unacceptable, and he ran through a hundred million dollars trying make that case over the summer. The media has been happy to help.

Romney didn't just come across as human, he came across as smart, and competent, and an acceptable option. That did him good among a lot more than just his base.

The President, on the other hand, did himself a lot of damage.

Saw on FB (and from a dyed-in-the-wool Republican) that this jump was partly due to the polls going from a +4% Democrat sampling to a +3% Republican sampling. With a sampling shift like that, it's not unlikely to see a big jump.

Add that on top of the trouncing at the debate and you can see where that bump comes from.

It should even out a bit when they pull back from oversampling Republicans.

Added......anyone who could be swayed but the last debate can easily be swayed back.....


And the President is still ahead in swing states.......the ones that matter.

Status: offline 		The lie. A stupid you tube video was responsible for the violence at that embassy. Obama knew, and the State department knew that it was a planned attack on 9-11. Now the truth is coming out.

Almost everyone including faux news was linking the two events.....saying a protest had preceded the attack.

The lie, came when Mittens said we had "apologized" after the murders, to the murderers.....

Show us this apology.

Status: offline 		You need to get out more. Hillary and the chosen one both apologized for that video, blaming it on fueling the tensions. It was all a lie. They knew then what really happened and now the world knows what really happened.

Status: offline 		Not at all. The Obama administration and his State department did everything possible to keep the truth from being told about the murders at that embassy. It fell apart like a house of cards.

The congressional hearing today revealed Obama knew it was not the video within 24 hours and, what is worse, the Obama administration pulled security resources from that embassy compound and ignored requests from Stevens for additional security. So, Obama/Clinton replaced American military staff with Lybian security staff and refused to reverse that at Steven's request and then when the compound is sacked and burned they then hide this earlier happenstance and then also hid the fact that it was indeed a planned terrorist attact.

Enough for you? This could be very big. Especially going into the next Presidential candidate debate that will focus on International Affairs. This will be a very interesting two weeks.

It is indeed falling apart quickly. Obama must go into the next debate on International Affairs factually being a real liar. Kinda hard to accuse Romney of being a liar when it was apparent today in Congressional Hearings that Obama was either a fool or a liar.
