FMRFGOPGAL -> Well Girls ... Kevlar That Uterus (10/11/2012 8:52:49 PM)

While both vice presidential candidates stated they, as a result of their church's teaching, life begins at conception.

But the difference comes at their tolerance for those Americans with other belief systems>

Paul Ryan stated that he doesn't feel the issue of abortion should be decided by(that really means protected by) "unelected judges" and should be decided by the legislature.

Vice President made it clear he, as does virtually all democrats neither intend to ever challenge a woman's right of choice. He further pointed out that (and girls, this matters and is a fact) Robert Bork is the man behind the curtain when is comes to Romney's judiciary advisers. And if you like myself, were too young to remember the big Bork showdown during the Reagan Administration, Bork has spent subsequent decades making it clear he would take his famous "natural law" shovel to the head of Roe v Wade. And if there is the slightest doubt in your mind, do your homework on Justice Bork and his very public arguments, they're just about everywhere.

And it was laid out that the next President is likely to be appointing 1 - 2 seats on the USSC. And it is absolutely a goal on the legislative side  (Roe v Wade is currently under challenge ) to over turn or negate this landmark USSC determination of a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT held by all American women .

Women clearly have a big decision to make in this coming election. And now the cards are out on the table.
That said, there will probably be some cretinous clarification offered counter to what was said so clearly this evening.

Don't fret, F. The right of asshole men to hand her a couple hundred bucks, and tell her to get rid of it, is going to be just fine under a potential Romney/Ryan administration.

For some voters it's all about the vagina... And they get offended when I bring that point up, go figure[8|]

Like vehemently pro life congressmen. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2012/10/10/congressman-abortion-pro-life/1625915/

Hill, it's an issue that people feel very strongly about. They only see murdered babies, and hell yes, there are enough of them to put people who are extreme on the issue in some national offices. There aren't enough of them, though. We have the numbers, and the moral high ground of the woman's right to choose.

I guess some people don't believe their own candidates. either that, or they think abortions come  from under cabbage leaves:

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/10/mitt-romney-clarifies-abortion-stance-re-affirms-desire-to-defund-planned-parenthood/

Quote:
Romney has consistently said during the campaign that he would end funding to Planned Parenthood as well as appoint anti-abortion judges who could overturn Roe v. Wade.
“Mitt Romney is proudly pro-life, and he will be a pro-life president,” Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said shortly after the comments were posted online Wednesday. She later added Romney “would of course support legislation aimed at providing greater protections for life.”
When asked directly outside the ice cream shop what his position on the issue was,  Ryan said, ”I am sure you will find out in these debates.”
Ryan has said he believes all abortion should be illegal even in the case of rape and incest, while Romney has said previously he believes it should be legal in those cases. Ryan said when he was first selected that he didn’t mind his running mate’s less stringent views because it was a “step in the right direction.”
Ryan has said he is “proud” of his anti-abortion rights record and is one of the most active anti-abortion members of congress. He co-sponsored something called a “personhood” amendment during his last term, which under the proposed law would make terminating a pregnancy illegal, even in cases of rape.

The path to ending choice has nothing to do with a national law against abortion. The path to defeating Roe v Wade is to appoint just one more right wing judge and then mount an attack through a state statute.

When you wish to discuss of this scope, I would suggest more preparation, H.

TheHeretic -> RE: Well Girls ... Kevlar That Uterus (10/11/2012 11:04:45 PM)

So you equate not having the government pay for something with taking away the right to it? I'm probably more extreme in my pro-choice positions than you are, certainly more than the President is, but it ain't my job to pay for it.

I encourage all to support the charitable institutions of their choice, with their own time and/or money.

I feel the same way about California. God knows, it's got it's hand out enough.

LOL. Sorry, but once I spot a scam, I don't bother with the talking points of the day on it. Worst case, it goes back to the states. I don't see even that happening.

Have a nice night.

That's pathetic. I was calling it a night, but I think I'm calling it a conversation.

Can we get that in writing?

Romney sticks a couple of Bork approved
justices on the Supreme Court and choice
can be taken away.

Relax... nobody tried to exile you to the kitchen.
Actually the first response given to my OP was the pathetic one. I should thank you though for presenting what you know about women and their concerns. It was ... ummm ... illuminating.

I'm suprised you acknowledge the actuality that Romney's campaign is a scam.
Like the current challenge?

Oh well... good thing theres Canada right north of us to go and get it done when we need it - or any other country - or any black market Doctor - or just pile up on Plan B pills and sell them at a black market price and make a mint ... shit theres all sorts of options. FUCK YOU PRO LIFERS. I COULD GIVE A FUCK WHAT YOU WANT.

Aynne88 -> RE: Well Girls ... Kevlar That Uterus (10/12/2012 12:46:56 AM)

A-fucking-men Janah. I won't be forced to bear children and thank god I am almost 46 so hopefully soon it will be a non issue, but that doesn't mean I won't continue the fight for my younger feminist sisters. There is always a way to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. Either you have enough money to go somewhere that it's legal, or you find that shady "Dr." that will do it, but trust me boys, we will control our own vaginas. Just wish you would realize that really it's none of your concern.

TheHeretic -> RE: Well Girls ... Kevlar That Uterus (10/12/2012 12:51:06 AM)

Oh FFS, JanahX. Do you really think every state in the Union is going to individually ban something a majority of people are in favor of? If, great big capital IF, Roe was overturned, it goes back to the states.

Keep it real.

Consider how the Roberts court does things, like Citizen's United, they could easily take a state abortion ban case and rule that human life begins at conception and therefore all abortions are murder.

We know that 5 of the Justices were ready to bring into doubt more than a century of jurisprudence on Congressional power re. the commerce clause just to score political points. Roberts losing his nerve at the last minute is all that saved the last scraps of respect the Court has. A couple of Bork approved Justices and Roberts would be a 'moderate' on the Court.
