Hello there,

I just recently taken over control over my (female) subs diet. And boy, that is quite an effort. At this stage, she has control over what she eats, but has to keep track of everything she eats and drinks and write it down every day.

I am looking for a willing sub (preferably man, but female considered, too) who takes this list and calculates the calories for every day and reports back to me.
You now might think I am just lazy, and you actually might be right, but well, it will be a win win situation since I can offer "compensation" for this service.
This "compensation" will be discussed in private per IM though.

I hope to hear from interested subs soon.

PS: This is a genuine request, and I am not really bothered what you think of it if you are not interested. I know it is much to ask, but "If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all", please.

Welcome to CM: that's a much more interesting first post you have there than many manage, so kudos.
You do know that to get an accurate calorie count you're going to have to weigh everything your sub eats? Just a list of what was in each meal won't do for this, you'll need to have the quantities of everything she's eating as well.
I hope this is just stating the obvious and you didn't need telling that, but one never knows...

Hello Moorhead, and thank you.

I know that I won't get an exact calorie count without knowing the exact portion size. but I was asking her to give me a portion size estimate. From 1 to 5, 1 being a bite and 5 a huge portion.
Not very accurate, but the idea is more to make her aware of what she eats and if she doesn't lose weight one week, the portion size/calories have to be reduced.

I was thinking of a more iterating and relative approach rather than an absolute and scientific one ;)

1) I would suggest that you use Fit Day or something similar.

2) Before any diet, there should be blood tests for thyroid issues, insulin resistance, etc...because you could actually cause damage by doing something incorrectly.

3) I would recommend that a doctor or nutritionist be the person that determines a diet for her.

Here's a novel idea..........have the person doing the actual eating do the actual research and record keeping.

@OsideGirl
I wasn't intending to make this an extreme thing. A stone or so max over maybe a few months, half a year...
She is not obese and generally healthy. I see your point, though, and will research it a bit more.

@LaTigresse
Thank you for your input, but you kind of missed the point here ;)

Why not just use one of the zillion online calorie trackers? I've used myfitnesspal before and I recommend it to everyone. Also, estimating portion size with "bite" to "huge" is grossly inaccurate and you're both probably going to get very frustrated very quickly when she doesn't lose any weight because the estimate of how many calories she's eating is so far off what she's actually eating. Invest in some measuring cups and/or a kitchen scale and instruct her to use it for everything she eats.

www.myfitnesspal.com

She logs, it counts - you can set the goals for what she should be eating as well, and it's as public or private as you want it to be. She can set it to only be viewable with a code, which she gives to you.

Yes myfitnesspal is a good one. If she's logging what she eats anyway, she might as well do it there and you can check up online wherever you are. It will also monitor her exercise and produce nice little graphs. Then you don't need to compensate anyone since it will do it for you. Free, too.

I use myfitnesspal and get this - I monitor my dom's calorie intake and largely control what he eats. Madness, huh?

Actually, I think it is you that is missing the point.

But good luck in finding a slave to serve your slave.

It will even make a menu for her if you would like. It is impossible to gage how many calories are in a bite or enormous portions.
But there you can have access to her account and know exactly what she is eating, what she did for activity, even her water consumption.

Sounds like others beat me to it. I was going to suggest MyFitnessPal. It's the app that I use. It's available for Android or iPhone.

It has a huge database of foods, including almost everything on the menu at most chain restaurants, and most national grocery items. The calories and "average" portion sizes are already included. But if she eats a different portion size than the average, she can change it manually.

If she is already keeping a food journal, just have her keep it on her phone (or computer). Then you can look at her caloric intake anytime you want. All you have to do is open up the app on your phone.

IMO, this approach is much easier (and more effective) than what you're recommending. It will also allow you to track her water intake and exercise as well.

Hope that helps.

Please note that reducing calorie amount any week she doesn't lose weight is not taking into account the water retention weight during PMS. Typically women hold 5 to 10 pounds of water. Thus you will be reducing calories every month and still have weight gain monthly, even if she is not permitted any food.

I suggest that since she's in good health already, and you obviously don't know what you're doing, that you shouldn't do this.

You do realize that this part is stupid, don't you?

Lack of weight loss can be caused by many things. But more importantly, weight loss is simple math. You can't just control the input (calories), you also have to control the output (how much she's burning). So depending on how active she is in a given week, she can lose weight, gain weight, or stay the same, all while eating the exact same number of calories. It's basically a zero sum game.

No, LatT. Somebody is waiting to see if there is a male who will step up and receive that special 'compensation'. Wink, wink, nod, nod.

Weight loss doesn't work that way. It's a not straight line down with equal amounts lost. You can sometimes go weeks without "losing" anything, then one day wake up 5lbs lower.

This, and what Des said. Also, cold remedies cause the body to retain water and will actually increase weight in a week, if one finds the need to take these.

Having lost 95 pounds, I can attest that people who do not know about the nuances of dieting (and the OP suggests that's the case here) should not be managing another's diet. There is SO MUCH at play when losing weight - calories is just a tiny bit. Fiber count, carbs, fat grams, protein and, very importantly, exercise. In my loss of 95 pounds, I couldn't count the number of weeks I didn't lose, or actually went up a pound or two, without having changed a thing. Punishing someone by taking away calories just adds to the emotional sense of defeat that a person generally already battles when trying to lose weight. Not a great idea.

You know what the Mister has done through my weight loss?? He has trusted me to manage it, and he encourages me so much along the way that it's all been an extremely positive experience, even on those weeks I didn't lose.

If she is responsible for writing down everything she consumes in a day, and you are asking someone outside
of your relationship to convert the calories for you, where exactly is the effort you seem to be overwhelmed with?
