I'm going with, "wow," for an initial impression.

I don't know if being most improved should give the President the win, but he showed up, and found a game to bring with him.

This was a much improved effort.
Will it be enough? I guess we'll see in a few weeks,.

Exposing the candidates to the sheeple is certainly positive, but It would be useful, if they stopped calling it a debate. These are not debates. Let us call it for example " Who Wants To Be A President".

The Prez brought a better game. But in the big picture it wasn't a game-changer.

I still predict an electoral landslide for Mitt.

CU [University of Colorado] Political Science Professor Dr. Michael Berry, who spoke with Campus Reform at length on Tuesday, said there is at least 77 percent chance that Romney will win the popular vote... Berry noted his model has never been wrong at predicting the outcome of a presidential election. “For the last eight presidential elections, this model has correctly predicted the winner,” he said.

I was rather impressed by the Bamsters performance tonight. It wasn't nearly as dreadful as his last attempt at debating Romney. Although, it was pretty obvious that Obama is still intimidated by Romney.

It doesn't help Obummer that the moderator conceded that Romney was right about Libya after the debate was over. Considering Crowly is a known shill for Obama, and that inserting her incorrect "fact check" into the debate was a conscious effort to derail Romney and support Obama, I think this is something that may very well go against The Liar in Chief if the lamestream media follows up on her retraction. Not surprisingly, her tag team partisan shenanigans are already being discussed in the conservative blogosphere.

But let's face it. This wasn't much of a game changer in either direction. Romney showed up with the facts on his side and verbally bitch slapped Obama a few times, which will keep Republicans happy. Obama reached down before the debates, felt around inside his trousers and found a set of balls (probably on loan from Hilary) and, even though he still can't seem to find his brain, that will be enough to keep the Democrats happy.

Will this town hall debate change undecided voters opinions? Probably not.

You guys will fall for anything.

Let's review Romney's tax plan a he laid it out last night
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/16/us/politics/transcript-of-the-second-presidential-debate-in-hempstead-ny.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

And that is every middle-income taxpayer no longer will pay any tax on interest, dividends or capital gains, no tax on your savings.
That makes life a lot easier. If you’re getting interest from a bank, if you’re getting a statement from a mutual fund or any other kind of investments you have, you don’t have to worry about filing taxes on that, because there will be no taxes for anybody making $200,000 a year and less on your interest, dividends and capital gains.

Who has earned income below $200k but significant capital gains? Mitt Romney himself. Under the plan he tried to sneak past the public tonight Romney, and hundreds of other mega wealthy individuals, would pay not a penny on billions of investment income.

Maybe Im reading that wrong, but I take that to mean anyone who has less than 200K in interest, dividends and capital gains wont pay taxes on that amount.. I dont see earned income mentioned.

What I did see in that is an incentive to save/invest. Not a bad thing that.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Tuesday Germany needs to stimulate domestic economic demand and urged opposition parties to stop blocking proposed tax cuts in the upper house of Parliament.

Merkel told business leaders Germany should end the automatic progression of workers into ever higher tax brackets due to inflation, which siphons more than 20 billion euros ($26 billion) out of the economy each year. She also renewed her calls for cuts in pension contributions as another way to boost purchasing power.

"Growth in Germany can at the moment be stimulated by an increase in domestic demand more than anything else," she said.

Interesting perspective from Merkel. Lower taxes to boost demand via people having more to spend. So Romney-ish.

Yes, but their tax rate is many times ours.   Even their rich pay taxes there, and they are still rich.

It hasnn't and won't work here.

So what? An increase to private disposable income has the potential to increase demand. That their effective taxation is higher is irrelevant.

I wish there was more discussion on the shrinking middle class, and how to gain back, those who fell to "poor working class". Our country is no longer a majority of the middle class, with millions out of work, losing homes, etc, I am interested in how we are going to elevate them, and bring middle class back to the strength it once was. Both sides acknowledged there was a struggle, but neither seemed to focus on anything but those above poverty level. Out of touch, or not wanting to hit the tough issues? All in all, Obama was at least awake and present this time.

Good for Germany.  We did it here and it didn't work.  Who gives a fuck what Germany is doing, it won't do anything for Americans.

I'm quite aware who said that and Right Wing radio also uses one of the tenets of Lenin and Goebbels.

"Tell a lie often enough and with enough conviction, it becomes the truth"

So what's your fucking point?
Does it have fuckall to do with the topic?

If you want to go back to the earliest 'redistribution guy", you might want to look at.....Jesus (loaves and fishes).

The popular vote has very little to do with the winner. After all, Bush Jr. lost the popular vote both times, yet still got his 8 years.

What will do something for Americans, most especially the middle class? Higher taxes? Would taxing the rich at, say for yuks, 99% solve our problems? No.

I wonder if anyone has ever contemplated whether we, as a nation, have attempted to go to far to fast into this social utopian dream / empire? Like Montgomery going a bridge to far? That we've put ourselves into this pickle requiring that what cannot be paid be paid (tantamount to being told to sit in the corner in a round room)?

Didn't Clinton also lose the popular vote?

I seem to remember that.
