I'm gonna play nice today before I get in trouble.
But have fun!

Well, that's the main reason I'm not in some place like Harvard or something, where I could pick on people my own size. I'm relatively bright, but I can't seem to keep myself focused on any one subject. Note how, when that guy who was doing the translation of Sun Tzu's The Art of War came into the conversation, we got to discussing stuff relatively amicably. Well, I'm the same way with most people who have a higher degree of education. Instead of getting into really dumb shouting matches like the discussion with Darkfeather has turned into, we have a couple of drinks, kick back, and we can chat for hours. Thankfully, thanks to my husband's long overdue intervention, I'm managing to stay reasonably focused on one subject for the long-term, if barely. Maybe I'll amount to something one day.

But you would be correct if you were to say that this is an inappropriate forum for trying to discuss the subject matter that I am interested in. It's kind of backward to expect most people at a random kink site to be able to grasp the inner complexities of brain function. That would be a perfectly just criticism, and I would acknowledge it.

However, although this thread was relatively interesting for a while, I don't think that I can benefit anyone by continuing this discussion when people have descended to trying to insult me outright. At least Darkfeather's strategems, however lame and transparent, had some degree of sophistication. This latest batch of nonsense from you, though, doesn't even do me the courtesy of being interesting. I'm done.

First I get bullshit, now lame and transparent. Such high praise, I am honored

But is it "desire"?
Nope, it's a driven instinct.

Untrue Dr. Grey, respectfully Sir, cats are one of the species of animals that will mate for pleasure, regardless whether or not it's recognized by scientists at this time. I've rescued cats with Angels for Animals for more than 20 years, ask any vet as well and anyone working at a rescue center or no kill ranch.

Both sexes of lions have been known to explore into homosexuality, however the reason for this is unknown as they are not part of the exclusive ‘club’ in which only two species are known to have sex for pleasure: dolphins, and humans.

(Bonobos monkeys have recently been included on the sextastically virulent list.) Which is a common misconception as lions alone will mate up to 50 times a day and a misconception that holds that the only legitimate sex between animals involves copulation between a male and female. I would further that it also exudes the arrogance of which humanity is capable of, my gay male cats would agree if they could I believe, since it was impossible for them to mimic a female's scent or other biological changes a female undergoes while in heat. This is especially true since I lived out in the barren reaches of the Phoenix desert as a child during the pre-development period of the 1980s.

Snopes backs this up as an urban myth as well:
http://www.snopes.com/critters/wild/pleasure.asp. And yes I realize Sir that Snopes is not infallible, but I would like to also point out the restrictions humanity once ascribed to our own species based on race and now on gender or sexual orientation. We are a small minded lot Sir, as we have proved collectively. And even the humble bonobo monkey (who is one of two species, along with dolphins, ascribed to mate for pleasure) have a matriarchal society where the females will kick and slap the males for amusement.

There is also ample evidence that the pain from biting, scratching, wrestling, and rough sex increases the female's ovulation in many species:

15 Most Bizarre Animal Mating Rituals: http://www.cracked.com/article_15926_the-15-most-bizarre-animal-mating-rituals.html

(I would also like to note that because Cracked cites it's sources on every page and shows verifiable research, my college allows them more credibility than they do Wikipedia. Ever write a bibliography based solely on Cracked articles? Great fun!!!)

Add to that great whites, tiger sharks, and nurse sharks, Tasmanian devils, many species of snakes, and an assortment of other animals require pain as part of the process to induce or further stimulation. If you take these animals as the animals they are and remove the higher level of awareness humans are supposed to have, one can not deny that S&M at the very least has a strong presence in the animal kingdom as a mating ritual. I would also like to further the credibility of the OP's observation in saying that we could take this one step further and add that many species within the animal kingdom display a decided trend toward an M/s relationship.

The OP also may have linked to YouTube, but the uploader of the videos was National Geographic. Just an FYI.

Whatever next?

I suppose anacondas and pythons are into breath play, right?

OK, you owe me a new keyboard. I'm on my replacement keyboard after LMFAO and spewing beer on my old one after reading this post. The bill will be in the mail.
