i am reading Dark Desire by Christine Feehan  right now,  i like her books for the fantasy, but i find i like the depth of thought and history in the Earth children series more for best over all reading.

I have read them all before.  Not sure which of the Prey series is my favorite.  I like the character because he has depth, so many fictional characters are shallow and one-dimensional.  Plus he is an asshole and I am a little partial to assholes. *g*

Status: offline 		I read Carrie's Story and I started reading the sequel, Safe Word, but I never got around to finishing it.  I like what I've read so far though.  Right now I'm reading Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk.

Status: offline 		The Anita Blake books have a definite BDSM slant to them, which is why I kept reading them after they started getting bad.
I've read "The Story of O" and didn't get anything out of it, my sub wants to read it though, I plan on getting it for her. I like the idea of reading it to her...hmmmm

Status: offline 		Love both of Laurell K Hamiltons series as well as Christine Feehan, Anne Rice, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Iris Johansen, Maggie Shayne, Karen Marie Moning. Love dominant alpha men and and suspense and paranormal, and D/s and bdsm in my books. The next book up to read for me is Exit to Eden by Anne Rice. Just got it in the mail. I'm a total book freak. I love, love, love to read and lose myself in a kick ass book.

Status: offline 		I used to read on average 300 books a year, not so much now that i have mini-me to care for.

I'll read pretty much anything that grabs my eye from well known authors like Stephen King, Anne Rice, Robert Jordan, Larence Saunders, Grisham etc,  to Authors I've never heard about but their stuff looks interesting. I've found some great books in the bargain bins. I like pretty much everything and always welcome the name of an author that someone else really likes.

Status: offline 		If it's scene type books you're looking for, then yes...i highly recommend The Marketplace series.

However...

Two books that are a must read, in my opinion. "House of Leaves", by Mark Z. Danielewski is the best read i've ever, ever had. i'm voracious with books...i can finish one in three days. Large ones, too. This book, though, had me hooked for over a month. So...just...amazing.

The other is "Lamb: the Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal" by Christopher Moore. i'm a Christian woman, and ...while this book is really irreverant, i LOVED it. Laughed my a$$ off too. It was remarkable. :)

Ironicly enough I used to hate reading books with  female protagonist that took second place to a male character or that was subjigated by a male character *s*  Ahhh irony  *s*  
Anne Rice's son Christopher is also an exceptional writer, his stories fall into the thriller/mystery catagory tho, no vampires or saints in his work.   Poppy Z Brite is another unique novelist if you enjoy vampires stories that don't follow the usual formula of tortured soul who wants redemption *w* (good grief who would want redemtion of immortality!! *s*)
I'm a big kid at heart and J.K. Rawlings Harry Potter stories transend age ( C.S. Lewis is also a good read)
Stephen King's pet Cemetary  and the Shining are excellent, nightmare inducing tales. I really love Stephen King and had the pleasure of meeting (scaring) him when I was a teenager, I hate to say it but his pre-rehab days stories seem to be the best.

Status: offline 		I just read an interesting book. It wasn't my normal thing, though I thought when I picked it up, it would be. The book is called The Burning, by Susan Squires. I thought it was a vampire romance, and in the barest sense it was. But if you are a male sub, or a female dom, some of the sex scenes in this book would undoubtedly excite you. Definitely not my thing.

I agree. :) However, Atlas Shrugged illustrates an even more distinct D/s dynamic than The Fountainhead, imho.
