If Obama were to win reelection, will he blame the previous administration for future failed policies, or will he continue to blame Bush.

What the fuck does that have to do with Firm's question?

Are you intelligent enough to read and understand it?

Is that a rhetorical question ?

Actually, mike, in an earlier post, he had answered Firm's question and I flat out missed it.

slvemike4u -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/19/2012 8:23:31 PM)

Yeah,I had seen that...but I still think the question is valid [:)]

Obama wins (roughly the same margin as 2008)
Dems make significant pickups in the House (lots of tea party freshmen lose their seats), probably stays Republican controlled but by a very small margin.
Senate remains Democratic by about the same margin as today (+- 1 seat).

This,or as I originally intended to state it(in my best ring announcer's voice,what is that guys name ? lol) :The winner and still President.....

Lucy, do you have a nice masculine cut Referee Shirt in stock, that my friend Mike here can wear when he holds up the President's hand.... Oh and some smelling salts for Mitt?

slvemike4u -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/19/2012 8:59:22 PM)

Michael Buffer...Isn't that the ring announcers name ?

p.s.Thanks for the shirt,makes the picture complete [:)]

Come on man, Answer firm's question. Who gonna win da big prize? (I bet you're afraid to agree with me)[8D]

In principle, Hillwilliam, I'm willing to agree with anybody, on something, somewhere, and yeah, your pick of Romney/Ryan in a squeaker seems like an obvious choice. So did Rubio for Veep, iirc.

I'm not willing to commit to it though. If anything, I like the Romney landslide, or at least a clear and undisputed victory, possibility better. The pieces are in place for it to happen, but it isn't too late for a dirty trick.

Before the first debate, if someone had held held a gun to my head, and demanded a prediction then and there, I'd have said Obama by a nose, unless he steps on his dick. Put a gun there now, and I'll say a clean, clear, election of Romney/Ryan, if present trends continue.

But I'm not putting money on the table until I know, instead of think.

a horrible case of romnesia has set in on this one

mnottertail -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/20/2012 6:51:38 AM)

Currently both intrade and IEM have it Obama +- 60%/ Romney +- 40% chance of winning

IEM has about 70% republican house, democratic senate.

The betting markets were how percents were establiched before the days of the poll firms.

The betting markets were far more accurate than polling.

Wilful Romnesia at that!

subrob1967 -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/20/2012 7:16:59 AM)

I predict the President will use an Obamaphone to call and concede the election to Romney in 18 days...

Tick tock.

What about the companies that Bain bankrupted.  What about the companies that sent the jobs overseas.

Your story isn't worth the pixels its written on.

It's frightening, how many people will sell their souls for an extra $37 a month on the food stamp card.

mnottertail -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/20/2012 7:31:07 AM)

Think of how frightening it is for the craven corporate capitulists to sell american souls gladhanding corporation money all the way.

The pivot is the exact symptom that exemplifies the disease.

TheHeretic -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/20/2012 8:25:25 AM)

Yep. Republicans can point to a shit economy, a crumbling foreign policy, a complete lack of a Democrat plan to get anything done in the next four years, and the Obamabots respond with a new word from the talking point emails.

Are you certain it will be the "new" House, and not the sitting one? I know the Constitution states that the Senate will vote on the VP, but it might be interesting to see if that is really how it all works out.

Sorry it's taken me a while to get back on, I've been busy busy. Yep, the House votes. The new House will be seated on January 5 (I believe) and any vote in the case of an electoral college tie will take place after that.

Sensata comes to mind.
http://bainport.com/

Sensata is a proftable US plant producing high quality sensors for the automotive industry, a Bain entity partially owned by Romney bought it and is shutting the plant after forcing the workers to train the chinese workers that will replace them.

TheHeretic -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/20/2012 10:16:09 AM)

The problem ya'll are gonna run into though, is that I can just post more of the story from the link some are in horrific denial over.

quote:

Brown said he took the step because record-high gasoline prices were threatening California's economy. The price increases were particularly painful because Californians already pay a premium for cleaner-burning fuel.

In a letter to Mary Nichols, head of the air resources board, Brown said it was important to act quickly.

"If this situation continues, it may cause unacceptable price impacts for consumers and small businesses, significant economic disruption, and serious harm to public safety and welfare," the governor said.

He noted that the change in fuels was already scheduled for the end of the month.

"Allowing refiners to make an early transition to winter-blend gasoline could quickly increase fuel supply and provide a much needed safety valve with negligible air quality impacts," Brown said.

They waived the environmental rules, exactly as I said to begin with.
