FirmhandKY -> Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 3:15:23 PM)

If you have the courage of your convictions about how the upcoming election will go, this is intended to be a consolidated location to be able to go back and find your predictions. Both for you, and for others.

After the election, I'd suggest that it would become the default place to eat crow and toss some light-hearted barbs. [8D] [:)]

So, here are my predictions:

1. Romney/Ryan in a landslide.
2. House gets more Republicans than it currently has.
3. Senate: not as confident here, but I'll go out on a limb and say it will become a Republican controlled body.

Anyone else?

Firm

1.  Supreme court gonna decide this one too. I can't call it.
2.  house about same as it is now. No large pickups either way.
3.  Dems retain senate.

Yachtie -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 3:32:17 PM)

Romney or Obama win.

Country loses.

edit: winner Romney

Kana -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 3:47:14 PM)

I'll take Obama by 3-5%.
No, I'm not saying this out of any ideological belief or because I'm rooting for one side or another, but calling things as I see em.
Well that, and the base fact I just don't see America voting in a guy named Mitt, much less a Pres that is nicknamed Mittens :-)

DomKen -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 3:47:22 PM)

Obama wins (roughly the same margin as 2008)
Dems make significant pickups in the House (lots of tea party freshmen lose their seats), probably stays Republican controlled but by a very small margin.
Senate remains Democratic by about the same margin as today (+- 1 seat).

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 3:51:11 PM)

Romney has convinced me to not stay home from the polls, as I had planned to do for the first time in 32 years.

I will vote for Obama, for the same reason I voted for him in 08. The republican candidate scares me a lot more than he does.

So will several of my friends. The republicans gave away 08, and I think they will do the same in '12.

tazzygirl -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 4:10:49 PM)

Already made my predictions... right subrob?

servantforuse -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 4:14:05 PM)

I have to agree with Firm on 1,2 and 3..

DarkSteven -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 5:08:55 PM)

1. I definitely don't see a landslide either way. I'm having a hard time following things because Romney's been gaining since the first debate, for no reason I can figure (although DesiderScuri suggested that the sampling went from oversampling Dems to oversampling GOP). That said, Obama's got too many ways to win - either Virginia, Florida, or Ohio will give it to him. I think it'll be Obama by 10-40 electoral votes.

2. GOP holds the house. Gains or loses a few seats, five or less.

3. I agree that the Senate is tough to call. I see the Dems holding onto a majority, but by less than now.

littlewonder -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 6:16:09 PM)

Romney has alienated almost every single woman in the U.S. due to his abortion stance. I'd be extremely surprised to find that many women vote for Romney. He also doesn't have the college vote either. About the only vote he has is the wealthy, religious people like himself or people fed up with Obama. All of those are very small minorities.

TheHeretic -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 6:47:25 PM)

I'm not there yet, Firm. I don't have to have my heart behind a call like this, but I need my head and my gut to be on the same page, and they aren't. I see the signs that this could (and certainly should) go Romney in a big way, but there is still an elephant in the room.

For me, it's still too close to call, but I'm sure liking the latest Gallup numbers.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 6:52:21 PM)

Ryan and Romney in a VERY close one. R party loses seats in both the Rouse and Senate.

servantforuse -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 7:22:28 PM)

If Obama were to win reelection, will he blame the previous administration for future failed policies, or will he continue to blame Bush.

What the fuck does that have to do with Firm's question?

Are you intelligent enough to read and understand it?

TheHeretic -> RE: Election Predictions/Eating Crow Thread (10/18/2012 7:35:28 PM)

I think it's a fair additional question, Hillwilliam. The President has spent the last 4 years blaming everyone and everything, except himself and his own failures, so who he's going to blame if he loses fits right in.

If he loses, he won't have to worry about blaming anyone. He'll just fade off into the sunset with a big pension and bigger speaking fees.

(Gawwwd.....I wish sometimes I didn't have a brain the size of a small galactic nebulae...I think it's actually unfair to most of you, but....I accept my lot in life, that which it is).

Okay...here's how it's going to go down.....and you can fucking quote me!

One side is going to win more than the other.

The side that wins fewer is going to be pissed off.

The side that wins fewer is going to claim bias.

The side that wins more is going to claim the side of Gawwwwd.

(I'm here 9 - 5 Pacific).

Do you really believe that, Hill? If nothing else, he'll have to sit for the 60 Minutes exit interview, and I have a lot of trouble believing he won't write at least one more autobiography.

A couple of days cleaning the Bo piles off the Rezco Lawn would be about all his ego could take. Hell, he'd still be eligible to run for another term in '16.

Come on man, Answer firm's question. Who gonna win da big prize? (I bet you're afraid to agree with me)[8D]

He won't run in '16. He'll do what Bush I did. He'll fade into filthy rich obcsurity.

ETA. As for cleaning Bo p[iles off the WH lawn, that's what his illegal yard dudes are for.
