I just thought of a reasonable theory for the existance of findom(me)s... People who can't keep controll of their money!! For example, I am horrible with money. I'm bad at budgeting, I can't save for the life of me, there is just to much I like to do/eat, to many places I like to go, so many movies to see. In many ways, D is my findomme. Every other week my paycheck is deposited into our joint bank account (which I'm not allowed to have my own card for) and she moves my "allowance" into my personal checking account. She takes care of the bills, the budget for food and fun, the savings for different things we need and for particulars that I need for my glasswork, and gives me back some that I can use for whatever. ...I'm not implying that is how all findom(me)s do it, but just one reasonable explanation as to why they may exist... Don't judge me by my horrible money habbits, haha.

Men traditionally had higher profile/power jobs. Pay rate equals power. Giving that pay to woman to control means giving up their power.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I am not a "100% give me your money findomme" as most others view them. But in that aspect, it is EXACTLY how I love to do it. No I still do not do it without tribute, but I absolutely love anything dealing with money. Many times I will tell my subs/slaves to send me their paystubs and bills etc and organize how much they need to save, what they can spend, etc. instead of "raping their wallet" i know what a reasonable amount for a tribute is as well and provides me with a better understanding.

The way you say it (hell, the way I said it), just makes findom(me) into a replacement word for accountant, and tribute just another word for accounting fee. D doesn't get tribute out of me...she gets dates, gifts, and sex...which, I suppose, are just different forms of accounting fees. Damnit

I describe myself as a BDSM accountant all the time. I enjoy the micro-managing that goes into financial domination. I'm not the "fuck you, pay me" type. I'm the "if you want to spend money on something that's not for your family, a necessity or a bill, you need my permission" type. It's quite a thrill.

I can totally see the appeal in that. I admit I don't 'get' the appeal in just handing over chunks of money even though I hear people talking about the thrill. But I do get why the situation discussing here could be exciting for everyone involved.

Heck even in "The 5 Love Languages" book "receiving gifts" is one of the love languages. Lots of people really like to be given things, myself included. I don't describe myself as a FinDomme, but if a potential sub brought me flowers or if a bf gets me something pretty for no reason, I'm thrilled to bits. But it took me AGES and AGES to be able to admit that. Why? Because wanting money and things is seen as being "greedy" and then men like the OP start to complain. It's damn frustrating.

I think it's a knee jerk reaction to the number of 20 year olds that come into the forums because they've realized that the number imbalance means that some men are so desperate that they'll buy things and give money to anyone. These women think that being dominant equals being a twat to everyone and come into the forums by posting "all of you worms/pigs" etc. We see a rash of them at the beginning of the month....when their rent is due. The majority of "FinDommes" aren't Dommes at all......and they've given the few that actually are, a very bad reputation.

Please forgive my ignorance but from what i've been reading on here, it sounds like a "findomme" is a Domme who only controls a subs money & gets tributes for it??
