Lucylastic -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 8:59:52 AM)

god then gave women the free will to do with their bodies what they will( or is that only mens right)
He also "planted" herbs and plants to create abortifacients....
He also gave us ignorant people, ugly people and absolute asswipes.

he has a peculiar sense of humour, but then, Im giving way to much credence to religions and their followers that spout this shit. Purely or their own ends.
Ill wait for his judgement before people like Mourdock who are only guessing while attempting to cover up their desires to control others actions.

Maybe there's another Republican sex scandal in the waiting, and he's setting up a party line to cover a colleague's arse?

Lucylastic -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 9:29:33 AM)

Just a matter of time Im guessing.

Moonhead -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 9:35:58 AM)

I'd keep an eye on fucking Cain. If he knows he can molest people with impunity, it most likely is only a matter of time...

culareD -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 9:39:39 AM)

At the end of the day, we will all answer to someone or something, whether it be the worms in the dirt or to a higher power.

What goes around will indeed come around for rapists and politicians alike. In fact, it will for all of us.

That being said...

I mean no harm by this statement, but I think some here on this thread have the whole "God" and "free will" thing mixed up. You see, the Christian faith says the God came down [as Jesus] and died for our [past, present, and future] sins [which are stated in the ten commandments]. We are not God robots...instead we are able to make choices, hence, free will. If it is true that God sent His son to die in payment of our sins, then the sins were known...again, we just have the ability to choose. I realize this is ONE viewpoint among many. It is simply my two cents...

Now, being raped sucks quite frankly. I don't know what I would do if I were in the situation of having to decide what to do if I was raped and made pregnant. What I learned many years ago, though, is to NEVER SAY NEVER. You can have all of your beliefs in place, and then have something life-altering that happens which changes you forever.

One last thing...if you do read the bible, it clearly states that God is not the author of confusion...so then who or what is?

Lucylastic -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 9:47:22 AM)

I dont disagree with you Culare.
I got pregnant after I was sterilized, yet it wasnt to be as it lodged in my fallopian tubes and almost killed me.
I was raped just days after going thru a stillbirth of my first pregnancy.
Never say never??
its almost a motto in my life.
Religion? not so much

subspaceseven -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 12:14:01 PM)

You know what I find interesting, as of this time 2:13pm CTD, Fox news has failed to cover this story

Moonhead -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 1:06:19 PM)

They won't until this guy changes party, will they?

absolutchocolat -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 1:11:27 PM)

well, it depends on which bible you're talking about...there's a ton of versions, each containing books written by different authors at different points in time.

It also appears willard will not ask for him to stop running the ads with willard supporting him for re-election.

Yet it remains an issue that won't go away for Romney, whose campaign still backs the Hoosier Republican, if not his postion. "Gov. Romney disagrees with Richard Mourdock, and Mr. Mourdock’s comments do not reflect Gov. Romney’s views." said Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul. "We disagree on the policy regarding exceptions for rape and incest but still support him."

Romney just endorsed Mourdock and cut an ad for him. The campaign has not asked him to remove the ad.

Also unresolved for Team Romney is how his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), should respond to Mourdock.

You do understand that the Bible states that God already knows what we are going to do before we do it, right? If you believe in predestination, then getting pregnant from rape can be seen as intentional. It could be seen as a "test" of one's faith for that same reason.

Don't take that as a defense of Mourdock, just presenting a possible rationale for his belief. I have my personal beliefs about abortion, and I take the stand that Government should keep out of the decision-making.

I'm not Christian, Catholic, or religious in any shape or form, and because of that I remain blissfully ignorant of the hypocrisies of the Bible/Torah or whatever other religious book people read, compared to what people actually DO.

That being said (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) If "God" already knows what we are going to do before we do it doesn't that negate that little value of "Free Will" and all that I've heard mentioned quite a few times as being in these religious books which people worship so blindly?

Bound... what do you say I get a crop and we get a room and I try my hand  at being  a Domme? I have it on reliable word "it's God's plan" <wink>

Kelly Ayotte has ditched this guy from campaigning with this guy saying he doesn't reflect her values... NOW.

Yep, I suppose some people believe that.
Why do you mention that? Are you a bigot?

There is a subtle distinction between knowing something and acting on what one knows. Winston Churchill experienced such a dilemma in World War II. The allies cracked the German Enigma code. He knew the future, but could not act on it. As I pointed out in the Seven Mysteries of Profound Love, the NDE Experience thread "Our understanding of mathematics and logic has much improved."

BenevolentM -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 4:13:36 PM)

The double negation fallacy is something I discussed in the Seven Mysteries of Profound Love, the NDE Experience thread.

Maybe an ESL course would help you.

"I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realise that life is that gift from God. And, I think, even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen," he said.

K.

Maybe not...... he still said what he said.

Well, predestination would blow all Romneys claims that "Its Obamas fault" out of the water, right ?

Well, hell's bells, man! Just everyone on these forums read your treatise with the most intense concentration and profound appreciation. [sm=rofl.gif]
