There's nothing wrong with being opinionated.  There's nothing wrong with saying, "This is the way it has to be for ME."  I don't even have a problem with a Dominant who says, "It's my way or the highway." 

My problem is those who feel that their opinions constitute, "The Official BDSM Handbook" and that what is right for them must be right for everybody.  My problem is with those who say that any Dom, sub or whatever who does (X) isn't a TRUE Dom, sub or whatever.

There are always options. I would hate to live in a world where there were no options. "This is the way it is" for them. Not the way it is for everyone.

On a weeknight i have about 2 hours that i call "my life", so for what it's worth, i do have one.  The rest of my time is spent commuting 5-6 hours a day, working and sleeping.  The fact that i chose to spend most of that time reading here on the computer is really my choice.  i'm exposed to more thoughts and ideas and opinions and facts than any other place i've ever been, including college.  Libraries close at night, friends sleep, but the net (and many times here on the forum) is always open.

i like to think that most of us here have enough intelligence to separate the wheat from the shaft, as well as forming my own opinion about what i hear and read.  The advantage of a site like CM is that i can read widely different opinions, read pointers on how (or how not) to do something, .  There are posts that touch my soul, make me cry, laugh or roll my eyes at what i'm reading, or think deeply about something, but the end result is the same -- i learn something and am entertained.

Absolutely, and that's part of the draw to the forums, at least for me.  i know of few other places where it's possible to have so many options, and so many opportunities to swap ideas than here on the net.  How many people have used to the net and discovered that they were Dom or sub, Master or slave or neither one for that matter.  i'm not the kind to go into adult bookstores, or to a club (nilla or kink) alone, so the world wide web, and its unending information highway is perfect for me, at least at this point in my life.

i agree it's lovely to get e-mails from people wanting to be friends, and they definately brighten my day.  However, there's nothing stopping you from sending the same type of email.  i've been blessed by making several good friends here on line that i've been able to carry into my other life, of phones and coffee and visits.  Yes, it's true that many we write don't bother to write back, but i figure there's no accounting for poor manners, or maybe they're just too busy, or maybe they're just not into making friends.
