I had a lovely chat with a guest at work last night that was enlightening re: economics. I like learning new stuff :)

I don't either, but what he said made total sense to me then. Not sure I could even begin to translate it now..LOL something to do with the economic landscape can be matched to the trends in how the multi-mil folks travel in their personal/corp. jets..

(he showed me charts, they were almost identical!!)

Not in California! Prop 8, which was an amendment to the CA Constitution to make marriage only available to Hetero couples is still in the Supreme Court awaiting a decision.

From what I saw on the news a few other states have made it legal, hmm odd to say weed is legal in cali and not same sex marriage, then again I got gay bashed when I was in LA so i'm not sure how its viewed as I was only there 2 weeks

Medical MJ is legal here, but it's not legal like alcohol.

I agree with mj being legal for medical reasons like pain relief, i think it should be legal everywhere for that purpose

I think no one has the ability to tell an adult what they can or can't put into their own body. That goes for weed, heroin, or the amount of soda. How much fucking control do we want the government to have over our very bodies?

It's amazing to me that it has taken so long for some state to legalize marijuana. In a free society, you need a reason to make something illegal; NOT a reason to make something legal.

Well I can understand it with heroine and such, look at the deavstating affects it has on users and user's families, its illegal because its so harming, where as with weed the proof is there that it helps with pain management and is proven healthier then cigarettes, with fizzy drinks and such its due to obesity, specially in childhood which is an epidemic therefore understandable as to why there is regulations with certain substances

Your "get high" is okay. Mine is crap? That's the same mentality that some use on these boards to ridicule others' kinks.

Further more; I have a condition that necessitates the intake of nicotine. No doctor will tell you this, of course because that would fly in the face of the "lemming lefty".

Well what doctor is going to prescribe you heroine? I didn't say it was crap so don't put words in my mouth. Heroine, cocaine, ecstasy and such are damaging and one hit can cause death. Highlevels of sugar and such will cause diabetes, high levels of salt will cause high blood pressure, heart disease and the likes are caused from obesity, shall I continue? Hard drugs are rightly illegal as they can cause death in one hit, I see no instances of someone dying from weed, I see only proof of positive results medically. I don't agree with your 'condition' as nicotine is not naturally in our bodies therefore no need for it, its called being a smoker, i'm one myself and I don't call it a 'condition'. I love how I originally posted this as a happy thread, nice buzz kiling skills.

Which is where personal responsibility should come in. The government shouldn't try to enforce it. It doesn't work.
