because as of Nov 6th, they got tired of trying to help you resolve yours.

Oh get over yourself...tired of trying?????
LMAO really , thats what you are going for??
They LOST
LARGE
That they will do nothing to "try" anything but obstruction is more than obvious.
Despite all the hope that they will work together with dems.
I dont see it for a minute.
I have zero faith in them.
Christie..may, because well hes a smart dude. I see him getting further, or blown out by his own party.
BTW I agree with Mark...you are dividing repubs and dems by the amount of success they achieve?
how arrogant and ridiculous.
Try feeling better about yourself, because it aint working on the rest of us.
Im back to "work" now, bye

Lucy, Tazzy... Either of you girls getting a PTSD vibe here in the forum? I am... I feel like calling the padded ambulance.

The best part of today was seeing and hearing the Pod People stamping their little feet and screeching about how stupid everybody is who didn't vote for Romnoid. I don't know CPR, so if the fuckers have heart attacks they're on their own.

I think in many respects Obama has been given a mandate. Despite a poor economy, which I dont see as his making, he still got elected. The electorate turned their backs on the GOP policies in sufficient numbers to keep the President in office.

I see it the same way. This wasn't necessarily the electorate saying, "We love you, Bronco Bama!" It was more like, "That Romney guy is some sort of space alien, we'd rather let you keep doing it your way." Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the President's policies or perfomance, but a decisive rejection of the alternative is a mandate nonetheless.

The electorate turned their backs on the GOP policies in sufficient numbers to keep the President in office. Romneys flip flopping on several issues didnt go down well enough to get him the votes he needed.

It`s democracy at its finest. In the UK the Conservatives got the same response in 1997 as did New Labour in 2009. lesson being, dont take the electorate for fools.

Of course he been handed a mandate.  He is the only elected official in the country that got 52% of the popular vote and 330 electoral college votes nationally.  Nobody else got that.

I believe it meets and/or exceeds the necessary and sufficient conditions of the definition; mandate.

That's the view from the guy with an airport bathroom fixation then.

Whoop-itty-doo. Ask Fargle what happens to people who never stop crossing their eyes.

The very same electorate gave him a Republican House to learn how to play nice with.

tazzygirl -> RE: Given the results in the house, Obama has a clear mandate.... (11/8/2012 5:14:56 PM)

chuckles

Its cute you think they gave him republicans to play with.... its pretty much how its going to be if they keep up their attitude of believing its all about them.

Nook, do you think the Republicans have the market cornered on success and self reliance?.... REALLY?

No.

If that is your contention you have your head buried so far up your ass you will need surgery to extract it!

Well, I will say, it's quite a lot like roses.....

Just admit that you backed the wrong horse, and go on, it happens...I once voted for Al FREAKING Gore because I disliked W

so much that it almost made me ill. The Republicans as a group have HUGE issues to solve within their ranks, and have no idea

how to get the Whitehouse because they have to have the Michelle Bachman's within their ranks to keep the religious nuts voting!

I didn't back the wrong horse at all....in the slightest. I backed my horse. He didn't win. And now, THE Prez....is MY Prez....and I support him 8,287%.

As we all should.

Bitching about the process is fruitless. It's time to row.

(I'll be rowing).
I actually once voted for W in 2002, and was beyond pissed that Gore, who actually won....wasn't MY Prez (try reading some of my previous posts, you may find me not the anathema you think I may be).

Maybe the Republicans will have the balls to run Christie next time....now there is a Republican that has something worth backing!

Maybe.

Mitt was simply a seat filler, it was his turn, just like McCain the last time.

No, Mitt was the real deal. His concession speech expressed that quite clearly....praying for the Prez, wishing him well....etc. McCain didn't do that. Gore didn't do that. Bush One didn't do that.

Romney was a class act when leaving.

That aside....I was pissed that Gore wasn't my Pres because....(I felt that was the deal we all agreed to).

So...when you want to presume my assumptions or positions....you're welcome to ask me.

Until then....don't.

Presume, that is.

(You'll more than likely be incorrect).

Christie...he's a blowhard.

As to my personal suppositions....I have them. I expressed them at the ballot box.

And now...Obama is MY President.

Blow HARD all you want...place blame all you want....I'm on the side of the guy who Captains the ship.

And as of today....That's president Obama.

My President.

Your President.

OUR President.

Stay out of the bathroom and get into the house then, and quit OCDing on your shit.

Yeah, like he has any fucking reason to give a fuck about the house, and now that he is in his limit turn, they fuck around, and the house will look like the dog took them under the porch and played with them.

Not remotely a mandate.

Lol, mandate, deal with it.

I mean SCOTUS handed the presidency to Georgie, and you called that a fucking mandate, we all said, ok and look at the bucket of shit we ended up in - the time to gripe is past, time to show you're the team player you pretend to be, and give it more than ten minutes before you call it a failure.

'Cause after Dubya, I think we all have a clearer conception of what "epic fail" actually means.

Frankly the fact that he saved this whole turd you idiots handed us from taking that final spin down the fucking toilet is fucking near miraculous, now watch and learn.

Since when have little things like facts ever stopped a good ole Right Wing whinge?

Facts don't enter the arena when it comes to biology or cosmology. We can now add political science, statistics and maths to that list. There's a reason why Right Wingers oppose teaching American high school kids "Critical Thinking Skills".

Oh please. You didn't just include that bolded above amoungst serious, non-theological-faith-based studies, did you?

Please.

That is the academic 'dirty bomb' to logical thinking, forget just plain sensible reasoning, and your trying to sneak that one in there is no different that Goldman Sachs sneaking in ninja loans into AAA-rated CDOs. It is the heighth of societal Orwellianism to even have such a thing at an institution otherwise charged with preparing people for their own part to play in furtherance of society.

What a complete insult to the legitimate studies.

Please.

Edwynn -> RE: Given the results in the house, Obama has a clear mandate.... (11/10/2012 2:04:20 AM)

While on the subject of abject academic dementia, whence the "critical' thinking" infestation?

Would you consider that 'critical thinking' in any relevant sector of society has improved in that regard as result of this insidiously inane requirement, such as was completely lacking theretofore?

Do you think that what society needs as for progression is a focus of young people at an ever earlier age to polish their ability to state opinions, in detriment to time spent on learning how to do useful and productive things?

The "critical thinking" sham is actually just a side show in the (apparently quite successful) corporate influence into academia, which, not unlike sports, instills in the student a purpose of crusade, as long as 'critically' thought out. Even worse than sports, in my estimation. Nothing more than mind-numbing stultification of natural thought process, instead now requiring that such process be constrained to some predetermined track.

If these people who purport to wish a good education for our society would apprise themselves of the advice of those who know what they're talking about have been advocating for decades, based on r/l experience rather than academic-conjecture-as-forced-march, they could start with getting a grasp on brain development, which learning to play a musical instrument AND (not 'or') learning a foreign language, at the earliest age, accomplishes.

All the 'critical thinking' crap does is accommodate the prior corporate badgering of kids' minds subjected to thousands of hours of their mental, emotional, and psychological inculcation to that point.

Don't ask them to 'critically think' it, please. Teach them how to reject it.

The voters have spoken. Until the Republicans purge themselves of the nitwits who would limit a woman's freedom and liberty, they're never going to be taken seriously.

Pandering to the religious extremists has destroyed the Republican party. I don't see any way to recover other than getting rid of the nuts.

What's worse...for the Democrats....is, the Republicans get the fact that they have no choice but to focus on taking care of their own and they have only limited years within which to do so.

The Democrats are simply going to wait for the govt. to solve their issues.

Republicans know better, and are working to take care of THEIR issues, because as of Nov 6th, they got tired of trying to help you resolve yours.
