Oh you missed an important piece of information then.
His insistence that they are Hispanic was for many reasons...
1) So he didnt anger the "white crowd"
2) So he didnt anger the "black crowd"
3) Illegals are not likely to attempt to collect unemployment... so he is safe if anyone decides to "check" his story by that route.
Again... this is all bullshit.

You very well could be right. But, admitting that they are illegal Hispanics, didn't he just admit to a Federal immigration crime?

If he was telling the truth.... [;)]

No, ALL INDICATIONS are that it is what the right has to come to grips with.

You can't borrow out of social security like the right is doing.
You can't have a military budget larger than the next 17 countries.
You can't have the military-industrial complex as your form of government.
You can't borrow and spend to ineptly and disasterously colonialize the world.

As I said, that's more palatable. Your error is in not recognizing the aspects of the left I mentioned. Given time, you will.

That's irrelevant to the economics involved which is why I ignored it.

I don't understand you since you did not mention any aspects of the left associated with reality.   And socio-economics are very much a priori and prior importance to military-industrial complex dominion here.

I will repeat this; because it bears repeating:

A strong and vibrant middle class is the job creator, the driver of the economy, the bankroll, the strength and prosperity of our nation, and the fix.

That is proven.   Everything else is ideological shitbreathing.

tazzygirl -> RE: The consequence of choice (11/9/2012 8:35:55 AM)

How so? Being blasted with not only economic sanctions from the community he expects to utilize his service, not to mention sanctions from the EOC (He could still be sued even by illegals) and the feds (This is assuming this bs report is true...) would very much affect his bottom line.

mnottertail -> RE: The consequence of choice (11/9/2012 8:39:54 AM)

You know he is on shakey ground if he admits that he is running a criminal enterprise, his business model appears to require it, he will face the consequence of that choice.

But that is the only consequence I see, and has nothing to do with the pathetic thrust of the OPie anecdote.

Yachtie -> RE: The consequence of choice (11/9/2012 8:46:37 AM)

Mnottertail and Tazzy, you keep missing the target. It has ZERO to do with Hispanics.

A short list of other companies facing future layoffs at the hands of Obamacare:

Smith & Nephew - 770 layoffs
Abbott Labs - 700 layoffs
Covidien - 595 layoffs
Kinetic Concepts - 427 layoffs
St. Jude Medical - 300 layoffs
Hill Rom - 200 layoffs
Beyond the complete elimination of a significant number of American jobs is another looming problem created by the health care law - a shift from full-time to part-time workers.

(see link for more)

I don't understand you since you did not mention any aspects of the left associated with reality. - mnottertail

That's because your reality is incorrect. You want it framed within your paradigm. Your paradigm is false according to the math.

mnottertail -> RE: The consequence of choice (11/9/2012 8:52:25 AM)

Trivial.   And there is no point to be made.

The shift from full-time to part time workers started way way before Law school students from Georgetown became matress backed sluts.

The layoffs and the part-timers would dramatically increase under your benevolent capitalism of lassize-faire insurance company regression.

naw, dont ask me why but Hispanics (even American born) dont seem to do things that way.. they would just go out and find another job (& probably have a new job the next day or so).. I lived with a Hispanic family for a while, she went to the dentist to have a tooth pulled.. the dentist pulled the wrong tooth! Now what would a white person do? they would be on the phone to their lawyer suing the dentists ass off.. not her, she went back the next day to the same friggin dentist to get the right tooth pulled.. she probably paid the full amount too, I doubt she got any discount for the wrong, healthy tooth being pulled.. They just seem to put up with whatever shite gets thrown at them, without even complaining..

I met one Hispanic guy that owned a stucco company, his attitude was that even if he made $50 on a project, it was $50 he didnt have before.. so he would basically take any job as long as there was some money in it, no matter how little..

From my experience and observation.. they just do things and see things differently..

subspaceseven -> RE: The consequence of choice (11/9/2012 9:03:24 AM)

In the real world, every employer makes a profit off each employee, hence how they pay them.. Now I own a small business, under 25 people and having the dam insurance monkey off my back would be great. My part of the premium is insane, but if I want good people it is a price I have to pay...and each year for the last 12; insurance cost have gone insanely up, while coverage sucks, but their profits and corp salaries have greatly increased

I would welcome a "free market" with insurance, but the GOP has written the laws under Bush; they each have a protected area, which is why it is not an free market when it comes to insurance, we are at the mercy of insurance corp greed..

Don't believe me, just look at Texas...tort reform passed, so insurance companies are limited to how much they have to pay out, yet they have the highest premiums in the country...so much for free market and all it will save the little guy

tazzygirl -> RE: The consequence of choice (11/9/2012 9:06:52 AM)

Smith & Nephew... a company with headquarters in the UK and the following...

quote:

In February 2012, Smith & Nephew plc agreed to pay US$22.2 million to settle multiple US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) offenses committed by its US and German subsidiaries.[11] The company admitted to having bribed government-employed doctors in Greece to use its medical equipment over the past decade.[12] The company has entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and has agreed to retain a compliance monitor for 18 months.[13]

Couldnt possibly have anything to do with that.

Abbot Labs....

quote:

On October 2, 2012, Abbott Laboratories was charged with a $500 million fine and $198.5 million forfeiture for illegal marketing.

Covidien

quote:

Covidien has more than 41,000 employees in 59 countries and its products are sold in more than 140 countries worldwide. It has just been announced circa 01/09/2011 to close the plant in Chesterfield, UK which makes paramenophenol, with the loss of 64 jobs.

St Jude with a 300 layoff? After a massive recall last year on one of their products? Doesnt surprise me.

Hill-Rom announced those layoffs in March.... ahem

FR
I call bullshit on this story. KXNT is a right wing
talk radio station. Is this just some guy that
called in? Did the station allow him on the air
without get any verifiable information from him?
The whole thing sounds like a revenge fantasy.
A let's piss on their parade however we can thing.
Or more sinister it's an attempt to start a urban
myth that voting for the Democrats cost
people especially Hispanics their jobs.

I wonder if the station or members of the
staff are in on it. I heard David Frum being
interviewed this morning and he condemned
the conservative media establishment for
blatantly lying to conservative voters in the
last three weeks of the campaign.

Boehner in his post election interview
said they aren't going to fight to overturn
Obamacare. As if they were ever going to
try to. Why would they? Pillars of the
conservative community like doctors and
insurance companies have no problem
with Obamacare they are going to profit by it.
They allowed the right wing media to blow
it up as some big bad something to scare
people. Socialism! Illegals and single mothers
stealing your hard earned money!
Death panels!

As has been said this was on the right anyway
a campaign about nothing. A campaign about
fictions. How many fleecers got fleeced
themselves is interesting.

For a Hispanic to sue is very rare (seriously, how many cases in the entire US?) but also, that case is quite a bit different, the argument is over wages and OT, not the right to have a job... i dont think anyone expects their job to last forever, and Hispanics especially expect at some point they will need to find a new job..

Things are a changin' tho.. read today that some of the Rs are calling for immigration reform, make illegal law abiding immigrants legal (just kick out the serious criminals).. we will see if this new R enlightenment movement goes anywhere tho..

David Frum was born in Canada.. I always find it amusing when he is quoted or referred to.. even if he knows what he is talking about.. he.. he.. he's Canadian! [:D]

The oil companies have their nose in the trough up to their ears.
Adm and cargill have their nose in the trough up to their ears.
Bill gates has his nose in the trough up to his ears.
The banksters have their nose in the trough up to their ears.
You have been busy looking for the wellfare cheats in the wrong tax bracket.
Perhaps you should broaden your horizons?
