With re-election, there is still time. Obama has more returned troops from overseas as well as an expanding drone force to work with. My guess is that the movement in the market is a recognition of this potentiality.

My guess it that it's pure lie-fueled paranoia.

and prescient for some otherwise pretty feebleminded rightwingers if it be true, since they've been doing it since 2005 and slightly before.

Still pissed at the result then ?

I dont understand why some on the right consider the US to be a democracy, ONLY when their side win. Did you miss al the hate spewed at the President ? Did you miss all the divide and conquer tactics of the Republicans ? I find it laughable thay you feel Obama won the election by using a divisive campaign when the opposite is true. You speak of entitlement on the one hand and continue to piss and moan because the electorate didnt give you the result you feel entitled to have had....... Ironic huh ?

America is not a democracy, it's a republic. Why? For one reason. the founding fathers were trying to prevent what Alexander Tytler claims to be democracy's downfall:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy."

I see when you can't stick to the issue, you're going to borrow from Obama campaign tactics...that's fine. You can call lend-leases, Marshall Plans, Berlin airlifts, medium-range nuclear weapons umbrellas, and the like lies, but most textbooks document them as historical facts. I appreciate your difficult position to defend and to prove otherwise.

Perhaps. Meanwhile, get to your local gun shop before all your fellow paranoid countrymen have cleared the shelves.

All those were democratic initiatives,  with the exception of the 'umbrella' which never happened and did not reunify germany, nor did it bring down the soviet union.

What the fuck you got for facts?  You got dunning-kerr, but you are  pretty much getting wiped all over the floor here.

Berlin airlift was 48 or so, Marshall plan slightly before, lend-lease (LOL sure as fuck wasn't TO Germany, how fucking dumb is that?) (here is a hint, we were lend-leasing TO the Soviet Union to prevent their downfall, and trying to destroy Germany, who we were at war with, I believe that made all the papers, it was a big kerfluffle at the time) Nukes put in West Germany were pointed at East Germany, not your garden variety common reunification strategy at all.

That's pretty much right. Besides monarchy, there is the theocracy option as well after jihadists have taken over.

Plenty of shops here and plenty of stock available. There's been no run.

I didn't say they were running out tomorrow. Eventually though, layoffs are going to come, production is going to dwindle or stop, and inventory is going to disappear.

Are you done with my Ken doll yet? You seem to have a lot of frustrations to work through still. By all means hold on to it longer if need be. Maybe Ken can read a history textbook to you when you're done and it is cuddle time.

And businesses will go under, investors will go broke, and the world will stop revolving.

Layoffs have always happened... someone else either picks up production or a better mouse trap is built...

Maybe now you are getting it.

No, not even close, the gun industry is growing at a phenomenal rate and they are not likely to slowdown for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for editing this to include some actual issue-related points rather than what were previously just incoherent angry ramblings. Nobody was arguing about re-unification of Germany and you're the one who initiated interjecting it. We were talking about the fall of the Soviet Union and how that had a liberalizing effect not just with Europe tearing down walls between East and West but also worldwide so that the global economy became more expansive and integrated. Any history book that you look at will detail the medium-range nuclear umbrella that the US provided and how Reagan was ramping that up further plus talking of disregarding ABM treaties for Star Wars and similar purposes. Western Europeans were in the streets protesting such saber-rattling. Calling me a liar won't undo the history that is pretty universally accepted and anyone can look up.

Your form of government is a democracy, to suggest otherwise is way off the mark.
