cranialcarnage -> Favorite movie quotes (11/5/2004 5:21:07 PM)

Post your favorite movie quotes here, and if you have ever used them in real life (as a game) then post that too. This should be amusing.....

"Come here and die, child, while you still have the option of doing it quickly." Pinhead, Hellraiser 3 (used it in a fight once)

Estring -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/5/2004 7:17:24 PM)

Mine is from a Chuck Norris movie. The movie was forgettable, but I loved this line from Norris to a mouthy bad guy he was pummeling: " If I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you".

blushes4u -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/5/2004 7:50:24 PM)

Guess my favorite has always been from the movie Star Wars *use the force Luke*....I think that to myself in everyday life lol

proudsub -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/5/2004 8:08:14 PM)

"Make him an offer he can't refuse" is probably my all time favorite.

perverseangelic -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/5/2004 8:47:09 PM)

My signature line is one of my all-time favorite movie quotes. Seems to sum up my life, too.

(*gags on the melodrama*)

happypervert -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/5/2004 9:11:48 PM)

the first that popped in my mind was Jules in Pulp Fiction saying "Allow me to retort", but that is just one out of many from that movie.

Then there are a couple of utterances by Dennis Hopper's character in Blue Velvet, like "Heineken? Fuck that shit! Pabst Blue Ribbon!" and "Suave! Goddamn you're one suave fucker!" and "I'll fuck anything that moves! ".

"I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubble gum." - Roddy Piper, 'They Live'

subbiejenn -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/5/2004 10:34:11 PM)

Colonel Jessep: You want answers?

Lieutenant Kaffee: I think I'm entitled.

Colonel Jessep: YOU WANT ANSWERS?

Lieutenant Kaffee: I WANT THE TRUTH!

Colonel Jessep: YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

and of course from the same movie ---
Jack Nicholson as Colonel Nathan R. Jessep: I eat breakfast 300 yards from 4,000 cubans who are trained to kill me so don't think for one second that you can come down here, flash your badge and make me nervous.

Jack Nicholson can be so sexy when He is in charge *grins*

sweetpleaser -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/6/2004 6:14:23 AM)

I agree jenn; also Clint Eastwood can be sexy, in a rough way[;)]

"Go ahead, make my day", "You gotta ask yourself, did he shoot 5 bullets or 6?"(that may not be verbatum), "Punk"

Or, The Terminator, "I'll be back" I use that one a lot with a butchered impersonation.

rain -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/6/2004 6:27:51 AM)

from one of my all time favorite movies ever, Heathers;

"Fuck me gently with a chainsaw! What do I look like, Mother Theresa? If I was I probably wouldn't mind hanging with the geek squad over there!"

I've seen that movie just one too many times!

aliljaded1 -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/6/2004 7:33:08 AM)

its a toss up but the first is from caddyshack
Bill Murray :Oh Mrs. Crane, you're a little monkey woman. Yeah, you're lean, mean, and I bet you're not too far in between are ya. How'd you like to wrap your spikes around my...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and the second is how i picked my pooches name
from True Romance

"Michael Rapaport :I don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out. All I got
is fuckin' Floyd."

"Floyd" being Brad Pitts Character

sub4hire -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/6/2004 9:13:34 AM)

Thermal Global Nuclear War.

Anyone remember that quote? I know it has sparked many a conversation in my life.

stef -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/6/2004 9:18:45 AM)

Are you referring to the computer game "Global Thermonuclear War" from the movie 'War Games'?

~stef

happypervert -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/6/2004 11:02:29 AM)

I would have guessed "Thermal Global Nuclear War" came from Dr. Strangelove, but I checked quotes on IMDB and didn't find it. But as long as I was there I figured i'd add these: "Fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous communist plot we have ever had to face." . . . and . . . "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room." . . . and . . . "Mein Führer! I can walk!"

stef -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/6/2004 11:22:17 AM)

Hell, you could put most of the Dr. Strangelove script here. What an amazing film!

"I'll get those bomb doors open if it harelips everyone in Bear Creek!"

The would be my 2nd favorite from Heathers. My favorite has always been:

Heather Chandler : Grow up, Heather. Bulimia's so '87.

Close seconds:

J.D. : The extreme always seems to make an impression.

Veronica Sawyer : It's one thing to want someone out of your life, but it's another thing to serve them a wake-up cup full of Liquid Drano.

Another fantastic film I quote from often is Heavenly Creatures.

Juliet Hulme : All the best people have bad chests and bone diseases. It's all frightfully romantic.

Pauline Parker : [narrating] We realised why Deborah and I have such extraordinary telepathy and why people treat us and look at us the way they do. It is because we are MAD. We are both stark raving MAD!

Pauline Parker : But we're all going to heaven?
Juliet Hulme : I'M not! I'M going to The Fourth World... it's sort of like heaven. Only better, because there aren't any Christians!

You could. In fact you can put most Kubrick film scrips up. My favorite is from Lolita with Peter Sellers as Clare Quilty.

Swine : Doesn't it hurt?
Clare Quilty : Well, I sort of lay there in pain, but I love it. I really love it. I lay there hovering between consciousness and unconsciousness. It's really the greatest.

_______

And there are so many many more...

Suleiman -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/6/2004 7:46:25 PM)

Once, more or less by accident, when I had been strapped to a st. andrew's cross at a party, my top and I wound up quoting/roleplaying the entire flaggelation scene from Jesus Christ Superstar (although the use of the name Jesus was used as an exclamatory epithet, rather than a form of address). Andrew Lloyd Webber showtunes and BDSM are definately a strange mix, but it was a bonding expreince between us (if you'll pardon the pun)

Suleiman -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/6/2004 8:29:07 PM)

Oh, you mean in general, don't you? Well, then, obviously 90% of The Princess Bride, of course.

Fezzik: "Why are you wearing that mask? Were you burned by acid, or something like that?"
Man in Black: "Oh no, they're just terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them next year."

Count Rugen: "Now remember, this is for posterity, so be honest: How do you feel?"

Miracle Max: "Have fun storming the castle!"

Wesley: "There is a shortage of perfect breasts in the world. It would be a pity for you to damage yours."

Grandfather: "Who says life is fair? Some times the hero dies and the bad guy marries the girl."

The morgenstern original has some fun bits too, but since that's a seven hundred page tome, I'll omit referencing anything from it for the sake of brevity. I do suggest, at the very least, picking up the abridged "good parts" version by Louis Goldman, but if your family, like mine, hails in whole or in part from the Guilderian coast, you would do well to study Morgenstern's original historical commentaries.

Like any fanboy, I have to quote Star Trek, Star Wars, and Dr Who at regular intervals, or they will revoke my geek liscense and I will no longer be welcome at the yearly seitch rituals.

"You came here in that? You're braver than I thought"

"Are those shoes rubber? Hold this, and don't touch anything grounded."

"Captian, there is an anomaly in the liver of that cloud." "Spock, you're the only man I know with the guts to say that."

The various muppet movies often provide useful fodder as well.

Rizzo: "God bless my broken little body!"

Rizzo: "I just fell forty feet onto a flaming hot goose!"
Gonzo: "You have all the luck"

Sweetums: "Jack not name, Jack job!" (Invariably recited as a ritual mantra whenever I'm asked to move the couch)

Of course, Zorro the Gay Blade has a number of happy sound-bytes as well:

Bunny: "His clothes are bold, his manner uncanny. Give him your gold, or he'll whip your fanny!"

Bunny: "Two bits, four bits, six bits, a peso. All those for Zorro, stand up and say so!"

Cheech and Chong's version of the Corsican Brothers, of course:

Fuquare: "Guards! I demand that you arrest these men! They did not whip me!"

Anything by Mel Brooks, especially his earlier work.

Blazing Saddles: "Are we awake?" "We're not sure. Are we... black?" "Yes, we are." "Then we're awake, but confused."

Young Frankenstein: "Sedagive! Give him a sedagive! ...what's a sedagive?"

Dracula Dead and Loving it: "Wrong me! Wrong me, wrong me, wrong my fucking brains out!"

The David Lynch version of Dune also gives up some good quotes.

"They tried and failed?" "They tried and died."

"I shall not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total oblivion."

and of course the coffee drinker's mantra: "By will alone I set my thoughts in motion, by force of will my thoughts acquire speed. The juice of sappho speeds my thoughs, my lips acquire stains, the stain becomes a warning. By will alone I set my thoughts in motion, by force of will my thoughts acquire speed..."

the movie Excalibur has a bunch of fun quotes as well, many of the best coming from Nicol Williamson, who had way too much fun as Merlin.

"But I don't know how to be king!" "You knew how to draw the sword from the stone." "But that was easy." "Was it? I couldn't have done it!" "You couldn't?" "You're the king, not I."

"Looking at the cakes is like looking at the future. Until you've tasted them, what do you really know? And then, of course, it's too late! ...Too late."

"You're not listening, at least your heart is not! Love is deaf as well as blind, that's it!"

Fanboy that I am, obviously I could keep going on and on, and I'm sure there's at least a few afraid by now that I will, but I shall stop before I go running off to my video collection to see what else is fun to recite at inappropriate moments as a way of confusing the mundanes at the next table.

Thanatosian -> RE: Favorite movie quotes (11/7/2004 9:01:15 AM)

From Young Guns II, the sherriff (dont remember actors name) when ordered to chase after an escaping billy the kid -

"I'd rather drink kerosene (or maybe it was turpentine - gotta go back and watch the movie again) and piss on a brushfire"

and of course the immortal drill sergeant line from Full Metal Jacket

"I will gouge out your eyeballs and skullfuck you!"
