Ya know what's funny is...all these people who have an opinion based on some supposition based on what they THINK they read....and the truth is...we all think pretty much the same shit so....all this blather about someone else's stink....ain't so much stink but....your (or their) statement....that you (or they) misconstrued.

SubRob ain't wrong.....neither are you...but you both get in your corners and no one can come out.

The simple truth is....there are myriad different opinions....and let's just all agree.....

Mine are correct.

Anybody happy over these people losing their jobs is a real pathetic soul.
Owner, regardless of whether most agree on the strike or the issues, who would get comfort from seeing these people unemployed and many in dire straits?

That's messed up, I only read a few messages from workers that were not happy at all.
I will go back, and read more.
We really do see all kinds these days, thanks tazzy.
:( Glee? from people losing their livelihoods?

They're not getting "bought". There are discussions underway:

""Many people, myself included, have serious questions as to the logic behind this strike," said Judge Robert Drain, who heard the case in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York in White Plains, N.Y."

The court is saying more than clearly...."Unions, get your shit together".

One of 100's of similar comments:

"princessveena

I have a college degree and shoot if these workers on strike don't like their pay...I'd GLADLY take their jobs! I'd say the majority of people who graduated the same time as I did are completely unemployed. These people should have been happy to even have a job in this economy. I will never understand these lazy people who complain all the time about their jobs, but then when they lose their job they don't understand why".

Kinda says it all...and fits rather sequentially with what the Judge was saying.

LMA thankyou!!!!!

subspaceseven -> RE: A few Labor Leader, cost 18,500 people their jobs (11/20/2012 5:11:43 AM)

In front of the Judge, the CEO's are asking for their bonus's, after already giving themselves up yo 300% in raises, the Judge calls into question the strike, but he also is looking at the bonuses and pay increase, since they are claiming they are broke, the judge told both parties to resume talks and settle it or a mediator will for the bankruptcy to move forward,

What cracks me up are the idiots purchasing Twinkies on eBay for around $600. a box. It's the same crap when Fannie Mae candy said they where closing down, the candy sold out in no time flat because people thought they would never see them again and low and behold less then 2 months after people paid $$$$$$ for boxes of the candy, it was back on the market with a new owner.....just like will happen here

farglebargle -> RE: A few Labor Leader, cost 18,500 people their jobs (11/20/2012 5:38:35 AM)

Court denies bonuses.

Bankruptcy is on hold. Judge sends them back to the negotiating table.

I guess the Judge has a low tolerance for Executive Bullshit.

This company is done for. No matter what happens in mediation. They have lost too much of their customer base to continue to exist. With the bad shape the company was in they don't have the money it would take for them to survive long enough to try and get them back. The most profitable brands they have will survive. The company wont. Other bakeries will probably buy the best brands, absorb them into their existing plants using the workers they already have.

Bakeries aren't as profitable as they used to be. With people being more healthy these days, not as many twinkies being sold. It's funny, people used to eat way more twinkies in years past and were slimmer. Now we eat less twinkies and are fatter than ever.

mnottertail -> RE: A few Labor Leader, cost 18,500 people their jobs (11/20/2012 2:36:10 PM)

Cuz we used to have to bike or walk to the store to get the fuckin things, (I was that toxic blueberry pie kinda guy) instead of mom driving us to get them or bringing them to us while we texted and played call of duty.

And do chores to get the nickle or 10 cents to get them, they went to like a quarter, and I fuckin near died...

So does this forum.

If I recall, he told the Union to go back and negotiate....not HQ.
