Yeah, reducing carbon emissions will impact on our way of life. But that doesn't mean it's not necessary! Consider the impact of having ocean levels rise by 5 feet. Hurricane Sandy is nothing compared to what we're going to be seeing in a few decades.

"It's hard" is not a reason to give up and stick our heads in the sand.

And? Water is necessary for life, too, but a flood will still ruin your house. And nitrogen is vital for life, but too much of it can set off algal blooms that'll kill off most of the life in a body of water.
