If people here understood the dutch media, they would realise that these youths were muslims when going by certain details. Me and 1000s of other people (elsewhere around the internet) just didn't mention "muslims" for the fun of it.

What is the politics and religion forum for again?

Oh you're only allowed to make an argument if you approve the topic.

But is this even the slightest comparable to all the murder and harm muslims are doing in this modern age?

Here's something that will make the mind boggle. This is just from 2001 until now. Not to mention, these are just the numbers of attacks. Within these attacks, there are multiple victims. So just imagine the body count?

One is far too many on any side. Im not going to get into a number count here. Your comment about people not dying from Islamophobia was wrong.

Maybe you should think more carefully about what people say.

I will quote myself from my previous post

quote:

The difference between the both is that hardly anyone is dying or getting seriously injured when it comes to islamophobia

Hardly anyone is very different from people not dying at all.

Now before people jump on the history wagon, I'm well aware with all the killing christians did a very very very long time ago. But my point is about the world today. The modern times. Other religions have evolved, but islam still remains stuck in the stone ages.

My point is that there are people who will use the "racist card" whenever a person criticises islam. There is a huge difference between being anti race than there is to be anti muslim or anti [insert religion here].

There is nothing wrong with attributing characteristics to groups of individuals. In biology we do, however, not speak about 'race' - as there has been proven to be no such thing - but either about a species or within such a species about (breeding) populations.

For example, we might say that the average length of the horns of a population of bovines in X is three centimeters longer than that of a population of bovines in Y. This does not say anything about the length of the horns of individual A in population X versus that of individual B in population Y. However, because of an affliction of craziness that goes by the name of 'political correctness' for me having stated these truths about populations X and Y someone on these forums is likely to scream that I am a racist and get this thread pulled.

So what has race got to do with religion exactly? A muslim can be someone from any race. A christian can be someone from any race.

Race hasn't got anything to do with it, as I stated above.

Populations, though, do, as in essence religions are breeding algorithms, i.e they determine a specific reproductive strategy; and they may also affect the physical integrity of individuals, as for example - though I do not know whether these specific practises are/were integrated into a religion - the binding of the feet of females in China or female genital mutilation in North-East Africa.

In the first case all geneticists and evolution biologists will be certain that there will be evolutionary consequences for the gene pool of such populations. (Reproductive success determines evolution and allele frequencies in a gene pool.) For example, there is a clear difference in the high frequency of inherited diseases in such Christian populations as the Amish and Mennonites versus the low frequency of inherited diseases in ordinary European Christian populations.

In the second case they will start to wonder about evolutionary consequence. Take for example the malformation of the feet of Chinese females. Such females will be less succesfull in escaping from a rapist than females with normal feet. Consequently in a population in which the feet of females are bound we must expect a higher frequency of rape alleles (whatever those are) than in a population that does not practice the binding of the feet.

And I posted about today.

How many is required for it to be moved from "hardly anyone" to a more "significant number" in your eyes?

Quite. Elsewhere they were referred to as 'allochtonous youths', which is a Dutch eufemism for people with circumcised penises that adhere to the Islamic faith, and which most often have Maroccan ancestry.

Thank you. I admit that I am woefully ignorant of USA abbreviation-speak.

You should see her in action in this debate about islam. It goes for an hour and a half though. :)

What part of the article implies that the youths that attacked the person in drag were muslim, WHICH is the reason that the practice has been ended.

Dude, I dont know what you are on, or reading, or where you learned the skills of reading comprehension, but you need to stop taking whatever it is, and go back to school

tazzygirl -> RE: Race and religion (11/29/2012 7:03:35 PM)

How many people have to die before its significant enough for you?

jlf1961 -> RE: Race and religion (11/29/2012 7:07:32 PM)

You know, the Muslim Extremists in the world would be better accepted if they just killed the idiots that promote the so-called Islam is trying to take over the world conspiracy theory.

Of course if they started doing that in the US it would drastically weaken the conservative voter pool.

For a Dutch person the reference was unambiguously about people with circumcised penises that adhere to the Islamic faith.

When they try to pass of illogical opinions as facts, can't provide supporting references, handwave away authoritative citations proving them wrong... *And* trot out the strawman fallacy that you just did...

They just might be a troll.

naughtynick81 -> RE: Race and religion (11/29/2012 7:32:59 PM)

Powergamz1

I think the poster named rule has made it clear enough for you. I just simply followed what dutch people said on the internet. Due to censorship, sometimes articles may not be so clear about muslims or immigrants or what race they are due to political correct madness.
