How many, nick.

Is 200,000 enough for it to not be "hardly" anymore?

Is it 500,000?

1 Million?

You made the claim, now give a number.

Frankly, its sickening that anyone would consider even one death in the name of religious intolerance as "hardly anyone".

naughtynick81 -> RE: Race and religion (11/29/2012 8:03:03 PM)

tazzygirl

I admit "hardly" was wrong to use. But this is absolutely nothing comparable to what's happening with chistianophobia.

There's been a little over 20 000 muslim terrorist attacks since 2001. As I said before, these are just the number of attacks, the number of people who died is another story.

Can you compare any other religion doing 20 000 attacks since 2001? Does any other religion even come close to that number? How about even half that number?

You know, the Muslim Extremists in the world would be better accepted if they just killed the idiots that promote the so-called Islam is trying to take over the world conspiracy theory.

Of course if they started doing that in the US it would drastically weaken the conservative voter pool.

If these same extremists knew about your BDSM life, you would get punished too. It's funny how people on a BDSM site stick up for something that's totally against them.

So watch out when wearing your leather jumpsuits and expressing sexual liberation.

Does it matter how many? Do we need to keep count now? Shall we do a running tally to see who wins?

My number is at 1... and they all have already broken it. None is better... or worse... than the other.

How can anyone respect the word "troll" when people misuse the meaning most of the time? You are basically calling someone a troll because you don't like their opinions.

Such as I also find it hard to take the words "racism" and "misogyny" seriously these days as it's so blithely misused by PC bandits.

quote:

RACE noun:

2
a: a family, tribe, people, or nation belonging to the same stock

b: a class or kind of people unified by shared interests, habits, or characteristics

You are yet to define what connection race has with religion

quote:

Islamophobia denotes prejudice against, or hatred or irrational fear of, Muslims.

Christianophobia denotes prejudice against, or hatred or irrational fear of, christians.

The difference between the both is that hardly anyone is dying or getting seriously injured when it comes to islamophobia while people are dropping dead like flies when it comes to christianophobia.

Here's an example

http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2012/02/05/ayaan-hirsi-ali-the-global-war-on-christians-in-the-muslim-world.html

Yet people in the western politically correct world seem more concerned towards islamophobia compared to christianophobia.

I myself have no shame in being anti muslim. In fact, I'm anti ALL religions. But I focus a lot on islam around the world because at this modern age they seem to be doing more terrible things than all other religions put together.

I take it that you've never heard of the Westboro Baptist Church....

I dislike the WBC as much as the rest of you, but have they actually killed people in the name of their faith?

I did a news search on the number of Muslim related Terrorist attacks since 9/11, since I watch the news regularly and do not remember so many. The only sites that give that number are anti-Islam sites. In point of fact, according to government sources, there have been LESS than 200, and that is world wide.

If you would provide a valid source for this quote, such as an unbiased News Agency, the International Red Cross (the keep track of such things since they respond to disasters) official government documents with links.

Stating numbers that are both unbelievable and unreasonable is what makes you an idiot.

Powergamz1 -> RE: Race and religion (11/29/2012 9:21:13 PM)

I think the poster named rule has made it clear enough for you. I just simply followed what dutch people said on the internet. Due to censorship, sometimes articles may not be so clear about muslims or immigrants or what race they are due to political correct madness.

That's a classic internet debate tactic, moving the goalposts to an entirely different topic, after refusing to address the errors in one's own assertions.

The data collected thus far matches the trolling hypothesis.

Christians? The Iraq invasion saw over one hundred thousand deaths of innocent people.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict saw a kill ratio of 5-1 in favour of Israel who regularly carried out extra-judicial executions which more often than not killed innocent women and children as well as or instead of Israeli intended targets.

Terrorists also were uniforms and are funded by governments.

You're problem is you refuse to see official terrorism as terrorism.

As Noam Chomsky said, if you want to stop terrorism, stop participating in it.

Jonc101 -> RE: Race and religion (11/29/2012 11:21:15 PM)

nick: Correct! Downunder, people are sick of Moslems claiming special privileges and downgrading us native inhabitants, on the grounds of us being 'un-Islamic', according to their norms and mores.

If they don't like our laws against 'honour' killings, beating of women and similar habits, then they have the freedom to go back whence they came!

You mean the soldiers that fought the war from orders that had nothing to do with religion?

Jonc101

I'm with you there. If you choose to migrate to a society, respect their rules or bugger off.

Jonc101 -> RE: Race and religion (11/30/2012 1:43:21 AM)

I'm surprised that so many Americans don't see the dangers of radical Islam, considering 9/11 and the various other 'gotcha' incidents that have happened in the US in recent years.
Some incidents have been planned by converts to Islam, others by recent migrants from the wrong parts of Africa. Without good security, there are likely to be other 9/11 incidents.

They only have to be lucky once! You have to be lucky all the time!

Just fucking laughable Nick, someone who has started threads about sexual equality is now moaning about people being politically correct.

TizzyTara -> RE: Race and religion (11/30/2012 2:36:15 AM)

Good topic NaughtyNick.

Sadly, western nations seem to be completely paralysed by this notion of having to be politically correct whereas the Muslim nations do not subscribe to the notion of political correctness and laugh at us in the west for being PC. However, they play the PC card when they need to.

I believe in free speech as the basis of democracy and progress. When PC-ness stifles such, then progress is also stifled.

Mezrem -> RE: Race and religion (11/30/2012 2:43:44 AM)

Christianphobia really.. dude in the name of the Christian faith a great number of native people died. In the name of "good southern christian values" people of color were hung from trees. Still it's unsafe for some people working in some fields to admit they are anything but Christian, straight and a drink the kool aid minion.

20000 attacks since 2001 were did you pull that number from? So what you are saying is it does not matter how many innocent followers of Islam have died because of stupid generalizations and fear mongering.. lets just count those good Christian folks. How Christ like of you....

MissAsylum -> RE: Race and religion (11/30/2012 2:57:01 AM)

Promoting murder of certain groups of people is a short step away from it.

Purely my opinion though. The protesting may stop riling people up, and then a more extreme measure may be taken.
