I am better than some folk,(Some of whom are on here, the ridiculous misogynist stupid losers for example). I'm also not as good as others (I'll argue to the day I die that the lilone is a much better person than am I, and I'm right, even if she doesn't agree.But hey, I'm the dom, so that means I'm 100% correct[8D])And that's cool.
But I will say this-I would never get involved with a slave that I thought I was better than. I won't do that to her, or to me.
Why?
Because I have too much self respect to do otherwise. If I don't believe she's my equal, I won't respect her. And I'm not wired to fall in love with anyone I don't respect. And i won't sell myself short like that.
I'm better than that. I deserve better. And you can call that whatever you want, but I call it healthy


I guess I read SeekingTrinity differently. I read it through the lens of not being superior or inferior as humans or orientation. Of course, we hopefully define ourselves as better or worse based on our own behavior, achievements, and attitudes. It is like the U.S. Declaration states:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

We may begin equal, but we certainly don't stay that way.

Just because it's practical doesn't mean it can't be improved on, Aderious511.

Patriarchy does work, that's a certainty. Matriarchy doesn't, that's very nearly a certainty. But patriarchy isn't optimal, which you seem to be forgetting entirely. The Spartans and the Vikings understood this, and accorded women rights that others did not. Neither of those two cultures' downfalls were related to that choice in the least.

Almost all women step up if they have to, and some women like stepping up. Men's "purpose" is to step up, and history is full of men that step up when they shouldn't. Seems to me it's better to have whoever is qualified stepping up, regardless of gender. That seems to be the most effective solution, and it tends to result in a remarkably high degree of gender balance.

i disagree. Here in Asia, almost every part of social protocol is based on perceived vantages of standing. Teacher/student, Employer/employee, Customer/cashier ... The senior person does not despise the junior. It is accepted that the senior has a privilaged statis because they have earned it. The young revere the aged because they are wise, but in turn the aged respect the young because they are strong. There's a bit of balance at play.

Kana, I was only speaking for myself and my personal belief. I cannot and would not presume to speak for everyone else or make a blanket generalization.

Ive just never seen myself as superior to anyone else strictly because I identify as dominant. In the dynamic, naturally it tends to go that way. But in general, my outlook has always been that I dont feel Im superior to the submissive or that the submissive is inferior to me at its most basic level. I certainly wouldnt walk into a room with you and yours and just presume that I was superior to her because I identify as dominant and she is your submissive/slave (I mean no disrespect, but I do not know your personal dynamic with her.) I am not automatically superior by default just because I claim to be a dominant female. As SD was saying, it is through my actions, the decisions I make, the investment that I put into my personal growth as a dominant person that grants me any superiority I might have...for lack of a better term.

I hope that clears things up somewhat. I was not in any way saying that you are no better or worse than...say...Ted Bundy. Nor was I really making judgment calls one way or the other about the "good" people of the world compared to the "bad" people of the world. The OP was speaking about the superiority/inferiority in the orientations found in BDSM...and it was only based on this that I worded the response that I worded.

Um... I mean, whatever you believe, bro. [>:] But you're also a Gorean, so I guess your views are inherently different. I guess that would be true in a Western/Christianity/Islamic based society, maybe. But there are many societies where this wouldn't be very true, all around. But, again, different views.
