Status: offline 		Well this sounded like it might be an interesting thread to jump onto. . . till I started reading and following profiles. Perhaps from the title's perceived subject and what I hoped might be authoritative to the years I have scoured collar me un-eventfully I was biased to read it.

Similar to reading what a home owners policy does NOT cover, it is much easier to read the one paragraph of what it does cover. The question, Where do you find non fakes - inferred to mean, where does one find a web based social networking tool to meet others, find events and gatherings in this life style?

There must only be a few, if any, left any more. The initially question if stated in the converse- inverse <---is that correct term to switch the relation of pairs and then flip the value of one? ] could fill a wall at the library of congress.

Alt.com comes to mind. In the past 9 years that has been the only web based social networking sight that I have ever met and had a LTR in the life style through. Don't get you panties in a bunch MODs, Various inc, pays you for advertising here; casual mention of fee based sights that advertise is only a plus.

Reverse-inverse <----- is that what I meant? This might be better asked at a sight focussing on deipnosophists.

Speaking of, what is your favorite wiccan holiday meal? That should be an easier conversation starter than debating sheeple and web based social networking sights ! -lol

Over the years, I have met people on collarme, fetlife, alt, bondage, and craigslist. Unlike you, I haven't found that alt is inherently any better. Your perspective is no doubt colored by the fact that's the only place you have had success, but one successful meeting over 9 years doesn't really suggest alt offers much better odds than anywhere else. And personally, considering there are so many free sites, I don't see that alt really brings any additional value to be worth paying for. For my money, fetlife is where you find the most genuine people.

You have to take online with a grain of salt. Just be yourself. Don't spend too much time with people who clearly are insincere or demonstrate no inclination to ever go beyond online.

Actually I had 3 ltr's from first meeting on alt.. but I do agree 3 per 9 years is pretty sparse.

A lot is location and my age. Stupid LI in a straight line is 7 miles away but surrounded by water and a 2-3 hour drive but comes up in a search as being close.

ALT is pretty much a farce, too. Although I still feel that a sight where members pay says a little more about them being sincere. For a while ALT and Bondage.com shared profiles / membership which increased its size. I don't know if they still do that.

I am familiar with FetLife; Sort of an adult version of face book to find forgotten emails / friends.
On the east coast / NYC / CT area Fet is mainly a couples resort.

What ever happened to the OP? Seems like this thread went awry and he disappeared. C'est la internette.

The alt boost is kinda misleading. When I first got started, Alt was a decent site. Nine years ago, it was good. Now, it's crap.

Fetlife is not exactly about meeting, but it can show you where local groups are, that do lead to meeting.

I've met some folks on collarme, including duskypearls. Much more to the point, the collarchat side is good for chatting but not meeting.
