I feel sad when bdsm has to have politics as well. It's just suppose to be this fun thing that makes life less ordinary and more interesting to live in.

I think I see the problem. When I posted in this thread I hit 'reply to kalikshama' when in fact my comment was directed to the original poster. I suppose I am not yet in tune with the discussion interface. But back on topic - in the past year I have heard motorcycling, hiking, and even ice hockey(?!) described as a 'spiritual experience' by certain people and come to the belief that anything that releases alters dopamine and serotonin sufficiently seems to be a 'spiritual experience'.

Not sure I agree, necessarily, with Inghammar's statement that a spiritual experience is anything we really enjoy doing, but that statement has had me thinking on it for awhile now. I mean, I like eating ice cream, but I don't find eating ice cream to be a spiritual experience. However, I consider myself a spiritual being, so in some way I'd say everything I do is a spiritual experience. Maybe it's just that eating ice cream isn't a spiritually enlightening experience. I'm liking this thread, though. It's had me mull on some things over here.

For me personally, absolutely everything in life is spiritual. God is involved in everything I do, but that's just me. So yeah, it CAN be anything you want it to be depending on just how involved your deity/deities is/are involved in your daily life.
