ORIGINAL: NuevaVida Well I actually totally relate to this. I don't care if there's a question or not. The more I got to know myself, the more I was challeng ed for being myself. It was really strange to me. People didn't like it, and would not only challenge, but ridicule, criticize, and downright insult me over it. Didn't change much, other than I don't spend a lot of time with them, if any. Me as well. Unfortunately most of them are family. It's been painful at times. Ditto. I get told that I need to censor myself because I'm "harsh", "not nice", "becoming an asshole." If being straight-forward and honest without sugar-coating shit means I'm not nice, then I'm glad I'm not nice. I have, however, reached a point where I, quite frankly, don't give a damn. Me either, on the give a damn thing. But yanno........I do get sick and tired of getting the same shit you've written about, simply because I am female. If a guy said, or expressed the same as I, they get a completely different reaction. Even GD is guilty of it. I got into a debate with a friend of his, yesterday. GD said I was just letting the guy get under my skin. No, I was defending my point. I really don't care what kind of stupid his friend is. Debating an issue isn't 'letting someone get under my skin'. It gets annoying.
