This question occurred to me in part because I've been playing with writing a story in which the main character is a professional Dominatrix. The story itself wouldn't revolve primarily around that, but it would play a part. (Mainly of complication....) So I was thinking over the business aspects of being a ProDomme, a subject I've read a bit about, but am surely not an expert, when a question occurred to me: what do ProDommes do about liability insurance? I mean, I'm sure there are a lot of answers, just as there are a wide range of degrees and ways of being a ProDomme. Some doubtless don't bother with it, but ones who are actually trying to run there business more-or-less legitimately must run into the question. I did find an article which touches briefly on the subject: http://blogs.laweekly.com/arts/2012/08/dominatrix_s_and_m_taxes.php That particular one makes it sound like the answer is basically "lie" -- or at least, give as few details about your business as you can possibly get away with. I can see that's probably the best most can do, but it also sounds like potential trouble, since insurers can certainly try to use that as grounds for not paying claims (not to mention cancelling your policy for the future or raising your premiums sky-high). Anyway, if any ladies here have any knowledge or experience on the subject, I'd be interested, and I expect some others would be as well, even if only intellectually. Thanks!
