Lets keep the politics out of this one...i just wanted to get some facts out there. Assault weapons and their civillian equivelents are LESS powerful than your average deer rifle, WWII or WWI rifle. The importance of lethality fell and wounding became important or at least just as good. Hunting rifles are more powerful, shoot farther and are more accurate. Your typical pump shotgun is far more concealible and easily as deadly as an assialt weapon. The most common weapins used in crimes are mossberg pump ahotgons, h&r single ahot shotguns, and glenfield model 60 .22 rifles. Probably cause they are cheap, poor people own em and poor people steal from otger poor people. Banning handguns wont work because any idiot with a hacksaw can turn ahotguns into handguns. Now, please keep this thread technical if we can

Good point, let me complete the thought. Its a fact that many "sporting" guns can effortlessly be made into handguns. Therefore it is a FACT that a partial ban on "bad" guns is pointless. Now, talking about whether a ban on on ALL guns would be effective is political.

I would not call that exactly "pointless"..

Yes and 5 people a year are killed by vending machines and 38,000 die because of the flue and god knows how many die from cigarettes or bathtubs and i dont see you railing against those.

Give me some time to get all the reports on the Assault Weapon ban and I will get back here with some facts. Mike we know about 20 dead children. If we dont see it in here we see it on every news broadcast on tv, with all the gruesome pictures to boot. Christ all the news media in this country needs is a bunch of people killed by fucking crazy son of a bitch, a nice war to broadcast live from, or some fucking terrorist with a bomb in his fucking underwear. Reporters are nothing but fucking vultures.

Except vending machines and bathtubs were not designed to be used to kill. God I'm sick of this kind of non-argument. If you would actually READ the responses to your point, you would have figured out a few things that I have tried to get across about guns in general and so called assault weapons to be specific. Go back and read my responses for gods sake. I have answered every one of your points, and then some.
