Precisely how is this any concern of yours?

I'm not an inner city youth. Why is the alarming rate that they are killing one another any concern of mine?
I have health insurance. Why is the plight of those who don't any concern of mine?
None of my children attend Sandy Hook Elementary? Why is what happened there any concern of mine?
I'm not going to be deployed to Afghanistan in this lifetime. Why is what is happening there any concern of mine?

Yours is probably the most mindless reply to any forum post I have read anywhere online this year.

Merry Christmas Chi [:)]

To return to what I think this Op is supposed to be about;I never took much notice of the politics of athletes, unless of course they used the bully pulpit of sports to advance whatever agenda they held dear.
As far as I know RG III has never done this....so his politics don't and won't matter to me.

Its nonsense to think blacks cant make remarks with racial overtones to other blacks.

FR

This is a free country, and we should all be free to support whatever politics we see fit. And just like the Jews who collaborated with the Nazis or the French who participated in the French Resistance, sometimes we might disagree with the prevailing sentiment of our "group".

But I will say this. Acting against the interest of others similar to you on certain dimensions does strike me as odd. Especially when stakes are high. I am sure a professional athlete of any race has very little in common with the rest of us. But that shouldn't stop people from remembering where they come from and trying to give opportunities to others who are similar. One person defying the odds does not a fair society make.

He's free to vote however he wants. But the way he is voting does hurt most 5 year old black boys living in disadvantaged neighborhoods. And if he is okay with that, then he is okay with that. But others don't have to like it even if he is free to vote that way.

And how exactly did he vote? Your mindset is exactly part of the problem. If you're black,Hispanic, gay or a woman the democrats own you. And you better go the way they tell you or you'll end up like stacy dash.

I think it is disingenuous in a recent era of voter suppression, harsh immigration efforts and suppression of reproductive rights to suggest that the democrats have managed to single-handedly con these groups into supporting them. If you were looking for a roommate and only had two choices, the fact that one of them promises to kick you in the testicles every night before bed time doesn't make the other person a sweet-talker by default.

But that does seem to happen quite a bit, though. People who make it from humble beginnings sometimes do forget where they came from. They want to get out of there as quickly as possible. Sometimes, they can even be more harsh towards the poor than those who inherited it, since their rags to riches story can justify them saying "If I can make it out of poverty, so can they."

Of course, in Griffin's case, he came from a military family, so he would probably have more in common with other military families than those who live in the inner cities.

Of course, anyone can vote as they wish and express their disdain for the voting choices of others. We've seen quite a lot of that lately.
