ORIGINAL: fucktoyprincess FR This is a free country, and we should all be free to support whatever politics we see fit. And just like the Jews who collaborated with the Nazis or the French who participated in the French Resistance, sometimes we might disagree with the prevailing sentiment of our "group". But I will say this. Acting against the interest of others similar to you on certain dimensions does strike me as odd. Especially when stakes are high. I am sure a professional athlete of any race has very little in common with the rest of us. But that shouldn't stop people from remembering where they come from and trying to give opportunities to others who are similar. One person defying the odds does not a fair society make. But that does seem to happen quite a bit, though. People who make it from humble beginnings sometimes do forget where they came from. They want to get out of there as quickly as possible. Sometimes, they can even be more harsh towards the poor than those who inherited it, since their rags to riches story can justify them saying "If I can make it out of poverty, so can they." Of course, in Griffin's case, he came from a military family, so he would probably have more in common with other military families than those who live in the inner cities. quote:
He's free to vote however he wants. But the way he is voting does hurt most 5 year old black boys living in disadvantaged neighborhoods. And if he is okay with that, then he is okay with that. But others don't have to like it even if he is free to vote that way. Of course, anyone can vote as they wish and express their disdain for the voting choices of others. We've seen quite a lot of that lately.
