I was born doubled jointed and retain most of that (is it doubled jointed, or simply being very flexible naturally?), so I don't have to prepare much of anything. For a while, I was training to do contortion, so yoga, pilates, and keeping lean is always good for extended positions. I'm talking from a contortionist perspective and not from a shibari perspective, though, so I don't know how ropes would feel added to the mix. Not yet, anyway. Question for the others in this thread, is there a certain fitness level required so suspension? Or is there something that you've noticed works better with suspension, such as being stronger, or being more flexible, etcetc. I understand that all aspects of health are important, but is there any part that you feel should be focused on?
