You should do whatever your Mistress tells you to do. If you have no Mistress, then do as you please.

I happen to have a bias against those people who care about if other people cap or not.

The convention of capital letters being dominant and lower case letters being submissive stems from the old kinky IRC, I believe. (Does anyone know if people were doing it earlier?) A chatroom, basically, and it was useful to be able to enter the chatroom and see at a glance who were the subs and who were the doms. This convention has no historical connection to meatlife BDSM.

The answer to your question is: it depends what you want to get out of this site. If you expect most of your time and effort will be in the chatrooms, then you might want a lowercase profile. If you are interested in meeting a partner in real life, then the fact that your name starts with a capital C is is irrelevant. It won't hurt your chances at all. There are at least as many dominant women with a "proper grammar and punctuation" fetish as there are dommes with a capitalization fetish.

I don't really care either way, sometimes I even find myself capitalizing things, sometimes not. Capital letters in the middle of a sentence always stick out like a sore thumb to me. Especially when the person capitalize the whole word like 'How are YOU today, MISS?' It just looks like your pinkie got stuck on the caps lock key.

When speaking to a submissive person I do not say shit like "Hey, lower case annie, come here and talk to, upper case Me!"

I view the whole concept as ridiculous. Others have different opinions. Meh.

I often abandon the Majescule when typing, cuz I am one lazy motherfucker, but that's all.

So if you see me typing in all miniscule, it don't mean a goddamn thing.

And you can quote me.

Do what you want. Some people prefer it, some can't stand it, some are neutral to it. There's no rule about it, so please yourself.

I second what the others have said about doing what you feel is best for you. Me personally....that whole capitalization and lower case stuff annoys me too much. I will actually ask people to stop doing it if they are corresponding with me and start doing it. But thats just my thoughts for me. Everyone should do whatever it is they think is right for them.

Red is right. It's an internet affectation. It has nothing to do with real life submission. But, whatever floats your boat. Just don't expect everyone else to do the same.

If you want to attract the kind of person to whom that is important, then yes you should. But, be aware that you'll put off people who think it's silly and that's a lot of them.

Agreed, and bouncing off from those thoughts...

Have you asked yourself what this practice means?

Do you have a great love of protocol, tradition and symbolic gestures?

What would make - you - happy?

Are you seeking a partner who is pleased if you use the Cap/small method?

To your question of if anyone know if people were doing it earlier. The answer to that is "yes".

To you comment about "This convention has no historical connection to meatlife BDSM." It isn't true, there is a historical relevance and connection to BDSM lifestyle, and it dates back to 1000s of years.

I am not suggesting that you shouldn't do what you want to do, but rather specifically answering those questions you asked.

What does your Master/Mistress want you to do? If you don't have one, does it matter to you?

Yes. It was commonplace on usenet in the 90's.

I kind of like my user name to be all in lowercase, but it isn't because I'm submissive.
The word poise to me means a delicate grace, and adding a capital P to it seems almost obnoxious.
Again, it's just my personal preference, and nothing I'd expect anyone else to pick up on.

A domme who makes judgements over something so petty isn't worth mingling to begin with.
