How would I know, I am just a dumb airborne grunt.

If you need evidence to support that statement, consider the following.

1) I turned down an appointment to the Air Force Academy to enlist in the Army.
2) I volunteered for Airborne Rangers.
3) Volunteered for sniper school, which basically means that in wartime I would die soon after being captured, snipers are hated.
4) I then volunteered to go to a spec ops unit that did everything the US government says that we dont do.

I must admit I am surprised at the amount of anger on this site. I kind of started it complaining about the combination of gun threads. I was frustrated but not angry. The powers that be told me to go to off topic and start a thread about moderation. I didn’t do it but many others did and here we are.

I am not angry…I am never really angry here, with the moderators anyway. To me they are kind of obstacles to get around when needed. I assign neither friendship or an adversary to them. Just a fact of life to be aware of if I want to have fun here.

I worry …not about moderators but about people I like, respect, and or at least like to duel with here on the site that seem to be taking this site, and the people on it, too seriously.

Time for a reboot and cool down.

Butch

I feel the same way. Sometimes I have backed off from reading these forums for a while...not because of the mods but because of how almost all of the threads were turning out the same.

Now to go off onto my own tangent. [;)]

Snarking and an almost house party among friends (almost no posts on topic), I couldn't tell which thread/subject I was in at the moment because it was "same sh*t, different channel". Boring. I cannot believe I actually got off the internet and chose to spend more time knitting and reading books rather than participate in a dozen threads that were all the same. Friendship showing through posts that have some meat in it is NOT boring, and a little bit of snark over subject matter and not about who someone is...is also something I enjoy reading. As CM waxes and wanes as different posters come and go, I wander back in to spend more time here or else I just choose to get busy and wait it out.

Btw, it's hard for me to believe that other people cannot tell when they are insulting the person themselves and not what someone has said. I'm very aware of when I choose to snark. Giving up troll bashing was like quitting smoking, and then walking into a room full of smokers and being offered a cigarette; as with smoking, I have decided to control myself and not pick up an old bad habit. Yes, I want Collarchat to be fun for me to come to. At the same time I also realized this entails some work on MY PART...to stop violating TOS and creating work, and stop contributing to the ugly that I see.

As for my sadism...nowadays I try to save it for the bedroom and for my own property (bo).

About the consistency of modding. I used to mod for two years at a site I enjoyed. Each of us had our own area of the boards to watch over, this meant reading EVERYTHING posted. It took 8-12 hours per day of my time, seven days per week...so that left 12-16 hours per day when my area was not watched.

IMHO, CM would need three shifts of people, at bare minimum, if each of them could be here 8 hours per day like clockwork; I'm estimating that something like 30 people who were willing to sacrifice that much time just to handle the boards (not counting those needed for Support and for Video Chat, etc.) in the same way our other board was handled "consistently". (I was having chemo during that time and had very little energy, so sitting on my arse in my bedroom all day long was not too much of a hardship. I was often surfing other sites at the same time when posting was slow.)

I used to report troublemakers to the owner of the last site and they were perma banned. This site has way more people and puts up with a lot of shiite, which causes a lot of work for mods. The "creating a ticket" idea is probably the best way to go...however, the only way I feel there can be consistency is when each thread is monitored and not through waiting for people to choose to report someone's post. In other words, I doubt this site will never be "consistent".

I've enjoyed seeing posters who rarely post coming back now that most of the hostile posts have died down. (I rarely venture into P&R, so bear with me, lol.) Too bad I suck so badly at tending threads I start, as I feel it's polite to respond to every person who responds and right now my life is just too hectic to have the time or energy for that, or I would be making attempts to start more threads. I like to see this site having more discussions about BDSM 101 stuff, as I doubt advanced topics will come up often...and I wanna hear some BDSM here dammit! [:D]

You are ignorant.... means lacking in knowledge in all areas.

You are ignorant in this topic.... is by far different. I am not calling the posters general intelligence into question.

Btw, I frequently admit when I am not knowledgeable on a topic... such as the Israel/Palestine conflict. If someone were to call me ignorant on that, I would have no choice but to agree.

yeah, and some people will twist anything they can to disagree with someone. say what you will. it's still the same thing if aimed at a singular person......backhanded as it maybe. like i said i'm a 'call a spade a spade' girl. tell it how it is and everyone knows where they stand.

it you don't like what is said to another person shrug your shoulders and move on. if it's said to you be strong enough to deal with it. if you can't then run to the mod's for help.

maybe you love it here exactly as it it. for the most part i like the site. i just don't like people acting on my behalf, or anyone else's when it's not wanted. i don't like the over pc inconsistant non common sense application of the rules. i have every right to say so and i will not change my mind.

needles

lol.. read my post to HillWilliam.

actually i'm choosing to ignore your comments. however, you do prove my point exactly. a total lack of consistancy so long as you are sly and back handed about it.

Very interesting indeed. I think this is creating your own drama so you have something to do, kind of like FB drama.

Bit of that going on, which is sad, as it obscures the underlying non-drama.

You will still get Gold Letters for saying that. Trust me on that one.[8|]

You will also get them for saying "You do not have the knowledge required"
Again, It has happened.

Sometimes its not what you say, its how you say it.

So why the stupid-assed "You Rule"?

I have said "you are ignorant [about x]" plenty of times in Community Discussions but I always explain that the definition does not mean one is stupid, but instead it simply means not knowing.

I have never gotten a golden ticket for that.

Edit to add: I have had posts pulled when I have responded to posts that I knew where over the line.
The pulls were not surprising.

Because, as exampled by a few other, they stop before either explaining the area, or they simply dont give a damn and fly off the handle.

Clarify please?
That didn't make sense.
Let me reiterate to the previous 2 posters. You WILL (or at least I will) get gold letters for simply saying "You lack the knowledge in this subject" SOME of us don't even have to say "Ignorant"
That is why I said the "You Rule" is senseless. Why have a rule that can be circumvented in less time than it to to write by anyone with a room temp IQ?

tazzygirl -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/6/2013 8:44:45 AM)

I just did a quick search on the word "ignorant". Its been used quite a lot in many contexts.

Then I went back to see how many times it was used in posts by you (quoted by you, ect).

23 record(s) returned

Not all of those were directed at posers... but some were, and yet they still stand.

Without seeing the posts you got the letters for in question, I cannot tell you why those posts were pulled.

If you looked, you will also frequently see the disclaimer of
"Ignorant is defined by Webster as 'lacking knowledge'"

Again, it refers to my recent thread and new sig line "Truth is not a defense"

If you tell a 400# person in your practice that they are obese, is it an attack?
If you tell a person who cannot read they are illiterate, is it an attack?
If you tell a person who has no math skills they are inumerate, is it an attack?
If you call a 5' tall man 'short' is it an attack?

tazzygirl -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/6/2013 9:16:05 AM)

No, telling a 400# person they are obese isnt an attack. But, are you qualified to make that diagnosis?

A 5 foot tall man isnt short to a horse jockey.

innumerate... that is what it means...Unfamiliar with mathematical concepts and methods. A person who is unfamiliar with mathematical concepts and methods.

All depends on the context of how those things are used.

Telling someone who cannot add 2 + 2... its obvious.

Saying that to someone who can, yet cant seem to get through the political mess we see with budgets and balance sheets, ear marks and pork.... I would view as an attack.

If someone states... I am 400 lbs, but I am fit.... can you really say they are obese? Obese is a medical diagnosis.

That's why I said "In YOUR office" You're a medical person right?
Please read the whole sentence.

As for "A 5 foot tall man isnt short to a horse jockey. "
There are 3 possibilities for height. short, medium, tall.
A 5' tall man would be considered _______________?

I didn't say "compared to" anything or "Approprite to" anything.
As for someone CLAIMING to be fit. that's a medical diagnosis which you already said layperson's aren't qualified to make.

I know you like to support your local mods .

MOST of them are fair.

Some in the past have been absolute idiots who act like some kid rejected for a hall monitor position and have run a lot of nice people off.
There are no consistent rules. The things written in TOS are ignored as often as they are used and made up stuff put in their place.

Level -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/6/2013 9:47:14 AM)

You don't have to be in medicine to know if someone is obese; and as wrong as the medical community sometimes is, I wouldn't put an over abundance of faith in their edicts, anyway.

Some may take all those as attacks, unfortunately.

tazzygirl -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/6/2013 11:07:15 AM)

Obesity is a clinical finding... based... horribly.. on BMI at one time. Thankfully, we seem to be getting away from that. An NFL player who has a obese rating per BMI isnt necessarily obese.
