phxgydnar -> What useful D/s toys can a woodworker make for BDSM play? (12/26/2012 9:15:13 PM)

I'm a master craftsman new to D/s kink and really good with woodworking.

I'm curious what is the most often desired mostly-wood perverted toy most of the kinksters here need made for them?

St. Andrew's Cross? Paddles? Birdcages? Stocks?

Can you give me some pointers?

I once saw a St Andrews cross that could be converted into a shelving unit.

Had the basic cross made of heavy timbers with a dado joint in the middle. Then there were slots that went about half way theu the timbers. The shelves fit into those slots. Eyebolts at the top had chains attatched which helped support the corners of the shelves.

Very Gothic looking but also very nilla looking.

So much of the bondage furniture is right right up your alley. Look at various websites and bondage pictures and see what you easily duplicate for your own use and maybe make a little bit of money selling some things.

I have made paddles; as well as insertables on my lathe and have gotten good reviews on both.
Wood dildoes and insertables get a fear full reaction I am always asked about splinters. But smooth wood and marine poly and your good to go.

Your imagination and creativity are your limits. Stay in touch as i have not made any furniture but may have a customer for some here soon.

Cages...modified bed structures, spanking benches, the list goes on and on.

You are *exactly* what I was looking for. Message sent

The problem with makinh for this market is most people are cheap as fuck, plus they cant tell the difference between quality and crap. Combine that with shipping cost and the fact most people who make stuff sell it for close to the cost of materials, make stuff you love for people you like.

Forget the rest.

Storage space for toys! Like shelves or bins with individual compartments.

I think that something on the order of those old hump back trunks with decorative sort of outside and a organizing system inside would be the bomb.

foot stocks - every footie I know loves these

st andrews cross - I have blue prints for one that changes into a stand and shelf but I'm scared of power tools so I don't see me making it personally. Lol

spanking benches

crates /cells that can be broke down - I've seen some beautifully made out wood.

Queening stools..smother boxes. testicle torture devices, tit crushers or trees,
In my experience I can agree with Michael, something like a cross or a rack, even a chair will likely cost more to ship than the cost of the item, peeps dont like that, but it is what it is.
Local would be good, I know shipping a heavy wooden item into canada is bloody scary price wise when you figure in taxes and brokering charges by fed ex or UPS.

TheLilSquaw -> RE: What useful D/s toys can a woodworker make for BDSM play? (12/29/2012 8:06:29 AM)

I agree, I would never have these items made and shipped to me although finding someone who could make them locally would be wonderful. Lol

If I had the money to invest, I would have a four-poster bed custom made. Really thick rustic looking beams. I would find someone who was willing to work with me to find lots of cunning ways to 'hide' BDSM uses. I'm thinking carefully concealed eye bolts, extra cross beams over the top for a range of bondage or even suspension positions. I wonder if it would be possible to integrate stocks into the head and footboard in such a way that they would just look like decorative cutouts. The underneath could house a cage which could be hidden by sheets with a valence or even a perfectly fitted store away spanking bench and toybox. It would be a little higher than conventional bedframes to make it an ideal height for bending over (and to make room for the stuff underneath).

But ultimately, something I would have to order from a local supplier and way too expensive for the average kinkster.

One day....

I too would love a custom hospital bed with re-enforced eyelets at the bottom and holes in the footboard and headboard for devices that can be inserted in them. There would be hidden compartments for the surprises I have in mind for any female visitor.
A few years ago, I attended a play party with all the equipment used transported in sections from over 300 miles away. My challenge would be that when assembled all items be very firm, stiff or otherwise inescapable. Something that has several utilitarian possibilites would be ideal. There should be something adjustable like the leaves in a dining table for different lengths.
Consider making a portable pony for a sub to straddle or with a pad to lay on so that the breasts are available for play.
The possibilities are endless.

Ah now this might be a niche at the top end... really awesome kinky furniture that can adopt a vanilla persona.

I'm kind of with the others... just "kinky play stuff" is unlikely to get you the prices you're after. I'd say go really exclusive...

BalletBob -> RE: What useful D/s toys can a woodworker make for BDSM play? (1/3/2013 1:34:08 PM)

I made a Nipple Puller with Blocks of Wood, Clamps and Threaded Rod.

Pulling Nipples are FUN, sub BalletBob

Me too. I have to use a basket now and hide it well. I used to put it under our bed until the day we walked in and my daughter had found it. Thank god she is way to young and accepted that they were not for her to touch and left it at that. Something little children, and my mother could not find and pester me about. Although I still laugh at the look of horror when my mom found a bit of bondage gear left out in our room.
