The OP's 28, I would hope he'd be moving away from being so self absorbed and having to take pics all the time b/c that's what his friends do.
It's great to appear to have good self esteem and to be social, to be young and enjoy life. But he's at a prime age to start doing some self-reflection, before the job, the marriage, the mortgage, the kids make the available time for that non-existent.
I guess to me it just says shallow. But then I'm an old codger, and proud of it.
