I have in previous "lives" gotten very frustrated and then found myself "yelling" at someone. Mostly those peeps are now on FL and no longer here, actively anyway. Would I apologize? I personally apologize. Not that it got me anywhere, because they still "came after me" based on prior acts of stupidity on my part.

I think what you have, most of the time, is peeps coming over from the other side . . . . venturing to ask something "in frustration" not understanding the climate on this side, and they get blasted, take offensive, become defensive and post their objection to the hottest ever oven they have felt in such a venue.

Folk on this side do not pay attention to the new poster and fry them if the poster doesnt realize getting burned is a great possibility.

Newer posters do not lurk long enough before they post their stuff and they need too, in order to get the feel of this place.

I lurk for 15-20 minutes at least one time a week OR I pay attention to the rolling message tally, thinking about what I read initially.

I rarely post anymore. I think to myself: who the crap wants my own opinion, no matter how simple and uncomplicated I think it is.
Furthermore, I am not sure giving my unwarranted opinion on a subject, even like now, is even welcomed.

Does my conscious ever get to feeling shame and guilt? And thus a need to cry out I am sorry? Not anymore !!
I am a big girl and if I go into the oven I must expect to be fried and most occasional or new peeps might not even know.
So to combat all this, I just might (usually do now) respond to the OP on the other side.

Good luck posters in the new year. I hope the oven temp lessens a few degrees . . . for all concerned.

Edited to add: I never post beyond the General bdsm sections, so this was an adventure for me

This is sooo true... of course it has to do with the lack of body language and tone...but I have posted in anger before and I have seen others. If they were not angry then I believe they were trying to make others angry anyway.

Again, your perception.

I will admit I have posted with the intent to goad someone that I perceive as weak and easily upset. Usually those that identify as dominant and have shown they cannot even control themselves, let alone be responsible for another. The fact that they rise to the bait, is their weakness. Myself I choose whether or not to let others anger me. My reactions are my responsibility. More than once I've told an idiot I wasn't going to play their game and ignored their efforts. It's not difficult to avoid rising to the bait.

I would care about your opinion, even if i may not agree with it, and your post is welcome here.

For me it is not often I can tell others my deepest beliefs on God and science for instance. I can do it here and sometimes get interesting feed back that stimulates my mind and maybe a few others by the responses I get. Sure I get the negative feedback as well...accused of believing in fairytales and such...accused of my beliefs being the foundation of all wars, evil, and killing on earth. But i realize these are shallow hateful people and just ignore them. But... I enjoy it and in this environment I don't care if they welcome the discussion... They just don't have to participate in the discussion if they like.

I am level headed and very seldom let my temper get the best of me when debating here on CM. But…every once in a great while I lose a bit of control. Usually not because of what is said to me but because I sign on in a bad mood and my personal frustration is close to the surface.

I’ve done it twice and I am going to use names so perhaps this thread will be moderated quickly. I want to use names because besides others input I also want to apologize even if belatedly.

This would be a good thread for those reading this thread to apologize if they feel the need.

I will not get into specifics but for some reason my conscious has been bothering me and It will be nice to get things off my chest.

The first and by far the worst is an apology to tazzy. She is a very intelligent woman that can be frustratingly tedious in her posts but there is no better here on CM in finding information on any subject we are talking about. There was a thread once that we were going back and forth as we often do but I was in one of my bad moods. As an example for a point she was trying to make she used a relative. I like an ass I was that night told her I didn’t give a damn about her relative and it had nothing to do with what we were talking about. This was hurtful I’m sure and I immediately realized this but was too stubborn to say so.

SOOO… Now tazzy I want to say I’m truly sorry.

The second instance that is on my mind is an exchange with tweak. I called her ignorant and a racist. She is not ignorant that’s for sure and although I feel she lacks perspective on Israel and the Palestinians I know her heart is in the right place and not a racists.

SOOO… Now tweak I would like to apologize and promise I will try to explain my positions better.

I guess the purpose of this thread is to allow others to clear the waters so to speak so in the future we can reduce the animosity here on Collarme… So feel free to apologize by name… unless Tos shuts this thread down. I hope it doesn’t because of the reason for using names is to say we are sorry.

Although it has been many a year since I have posted on here, I cannot think on any reply that I regret.I am at times gentle in my reply and others not so much.Often it depends on if a paddle is needful or possibly a hammer.

Tempting!!!!! So good to see you again!!

I think you left after my name change, so hopefully you know who this is lol.

As for the OP, I have a pretty good conscious about what I post these days, as I try to keep my thoughts, words and actions positive. If I ever don't live up to my own self-standards, and think I offended or hurt someone, I apologize. This wasn't always the way for me, but there have been a lot of changes in my life over the years, and not only am I not the same person I used to be in many ways, I would not advocate my old behaviors these days. These days, my intentions mostly come from a positive place, but that has not always been the case. I've forgiven myself for past behaviors, I've moved on from them, and I don't repeat them. Now, if I'm responding to someone with negative intentions, I look inward to see why I'm reacting that way, and I learn from it.

I like this thread. Thank you for starting it.

This struck a cord with me...but my changes often seem to be over months rather than years. Sometimes I really do wonder if I have multiple personalities. And I'm serious. Now and then I will read an old post of mine and i seem like a completely different person.

But I have notice neither one of me can spell worth a damn…lol

Ya..........I am interested to see what I might think of my posts now, in another year or so. Just knowing what all is going on in my life at the moment.

Nope. I make it a point to always be truthful in what I say, and say what I believe, so really there's nothing I regret saying and I have a clear conscious as a result.

Pretty awesome, thoughtful idea for a thread though, so kudos. =)

It'd be a pretty short thread if everybody answers as honestly as you, though.

I always say what I believe...at the time anyway...a few minutes later after a little thought I may change my mind however. And anyway sometimes knowing the truth...and saying the truth...is not always necessary or the decent thing to do... especially when the truth is hurtful and serves no real purpose except to prove you are right.

I don't mean the above as a criticism of you personally but just a general comment for all to consider.
