Marini -> The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (12/29/2012 1:23:31 PM)

THIS is an APPRECIATION thread, to thank those that make it possible for us to be here.
I often see thread after thread, complaining/moaning/bitching/and expressing what people don't like about CollarMe.

As we get ready to end 2012, and enter into 2013, why not have an appreciation thread?
This is an appreciation thread, to post what you DO like about CollarMe, and to positively make helpful suggestions to the powers that be.

I have been on CollarMe, over 8 years/since 2004.
I have had my ups and downs on CollarMe, and was called out years ago on here by Alpha.
When I was called out by Alpha, I took a look at my behavior/realized that my actions WERE indeed inappropriate, and I stopped doing what I was doing. {I was really acting up, and acting out.}.
I share this just to inform, that everything has not been peaches/and cream for me here.

As I just stated on another thread:
CollarMe is a wonderful ALTERNATIVE lifestyles online environment to "hang out" on. CollarMe is a place I can log onto, put my feet up, discuss a variety of topics, read/listen to a variety of opinions, LOOK at interesting people/and body parts , see familiar names/faces/persona's, express myself/ feel comfortable, and also let my freak flag fly.

If you feel compelled to bitch, whine, moan, complain there are other threads you can post on.
*Don't do it on this thread.*
"I joined summer 2004", and I sure as hell, don't remember nor long for "the good old days".

Like Carly Simon says, "These ARE the good old days".

Again, I wanted to start this thread to give other people to tell the owners, those behind the scenes, and the moderators, and also other members, how much we love, enjoy and appreciate having CollarMe.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For those that created, maintain and keep this website going.
I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday, and I hope you all have a blessed and glorious New Year.
Thank you for your hard work, time and dedication in keeping this site running.
I DON'T mind the ads/sponsors because I have been on here for 8 years, and it's still FREE!!!!

Many of us really appreciate it!
**Thank you for creating the politics and religion section a few years ago, so those of us that hang out there, can have a place specifically to go.**
{You contain us in the basement!}
Thank you for providing a platform where we can learn, grown, share, have fun on an alternative lifestyles website.

I don't think I can thank you all warmly enough, but I have tried!!!

3 Cheers for everyone behind CollarMe, you all rock!

.... I am hoping other members will share here!.......

Collarme has, for about 5 years now??? given me a place to go and discuss relationships with people who have a broader viewpoint than the typical vanilla viewpoint. It's a place where I can go to get simple, effective, and knowledgeable answers about sex stuff. Like it or not I see it as a community and I have friends here... some of whom I've met and some I haven't.

From all of this myself and my marriage have grown in unexpected but highly valuable ways. And for me, Collarme was the very first step on that path once I was out of the fantasy-land of SecondLife.

That's enough to be appreciative about for me... especially since it costs me nothing.

Thank you Jeff!!
Sad to say many that spend a great deal of time on here, rather complain, bitch and moan, in lieu of expressing gratitude and appreciation.
Happy New Year to you!

Kaliko -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (12/29/2012 2:36:42 PM)

{Stands up at the podium, taps the microphone, clears throat.}

I would like to thank the owners and administrators of CollarMe and CollarChat, for without the support of this community, I would never have found the courage to post pictures of my breasts with cartoon animation surrounding the nipples, nor would I have had the opportunity to meet that generous and thoughtful dominant who offered to employ me as a teaching aid in his lesbian cunnilingus class.

I would also like to acknowledge the moderators of these forums. So often, when we think there's something we must get done - some task that society has taught us to be compelled to do, like cooking dinner or folding laundry - it is these forums that remind me that no, no...take some time to smell the roses and to type out a thoughtful response to the crazy bitch in intros who wants to round up a dozen toilet slaves to build an altar for her worship. Priorities, people. That's why God invented TV dinners.

And finally, last but not least, I would like to acknowledge these forums as the precursor to my newly ignited world traveling...err...itch. Without the disagreements, personalities, and humor on these boards, I would still be looking for someone to make me sit up and take notice. And so, though it is a very personal reason, I can't in good conscience completely knock CollarChat because without this site, I would be spending Easter by myself. For that reason alone, I am grateful for those that keep this site running. If nothing else, this online site has made a true difference in my offline world.

"Thank you. You've been a wonderful audience. I'll be here all week. Try the fish!"

{Steps away from the podium and trips over the lighting wires. Gracefully.}

These really are the best of times on collarme/chat. The moderation is pretty light and the really full of shit posters have mostly left.

I totally agree, DK!
There are a few posters that I miss, but there are more I do not miss at all.

The beat goes on.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (12/29/2012 3:07:57 PM)

I like this forum. It's large enough to be free wheeling, not so large no one knows who the regular posters are.

The single most important thing CollarChat has over FL is it's EASY TO NAVIGATE.

It's very easy to find the most happening threads, today's theads, and to search your own threads for a response.

What else does a forum need?

I do love CM. Lots of good folks, easy to use.

VideoAdminAlpha -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (12/29/2012 4:08:22 PM)

You ready for this??.......You made me full out have tears flowing down my face.

Thank you for the bright spot, truly. I know that we(staff) are human and make mistakes, and that most members realize that. There are times however, when reading threads that, albeit intended to be constructive,in fact are hard not to start to take personally because no matter the reason why we are performing some action (or inaction) because it is procedure, it appears that there are users that are truly upset/mad and form opinions of us personally because of those actions done as staff.

I confess that I had to go look and find out who you were[;)] (Should I have started that as "I admit" and put somewhere else ? [;)]) I'm truly glad you are still here, and I want to thank you and the other site members that have posted here. ( You truly have no idea how much it meant today specifically, hence my tears lol) Thanks to everyone, it is truly yall that make it worthwhile, and personally why ( I can only speak for myself *grinz) I stick with it and would fight anyone that had an agenda I felt would not be in the best interests of the users at large.

kallisto -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (12/29/2012 4:23:24 PM)

Er, I, uh, don't like being out in the forefront but when I feel the need to say something, I do try ... so here goes .... I enjoy it here immensely. I will second, third, and fourth (or whatever count we are at the moment) and say thank you those that make the forums run!!! You rock!!! And the folks that post .. good and bad ... depending on your opinion I appreciate as well.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (12/29/2012 4:38:54 PM)

In the five years I've been a member of CM I've made wonderful friends and made the acquaintance of people I would love to meet in person. There are people here who, IMO, are "Doing It Right" and who have taught me a lot just from reading their posts.

The constructive critique I have is that the site's software is in dire need of an overhaul and there needs to be a larger tech staff. There's just no good reason some of the simpler updates like adding "Top/Bottom" to the orientation menu, a relationship status drop-down menu, or a radio button for "Actively Seeking Pro Sessions" haven't been added. If the coding is so complex that it requires a monumental effort to do this, then there's a problem. I would also like to see the site be more trans*-friendly by ending the misgendering of trans* people by making their profiles show up in the same color as male subs. Again, if this is a monumental effort of programming, then there's a problem that needs to be addressed.

There are other things I would like to see improve, but most of those have been addressed on the other thread. Overall, I enjoy the site. As much as I like FetLife, I spend far more time reading and posting to CollarChat than all of my FetLife groups combined. I'm a message board junkie, so that should tell you something. [:)]

Lilly425 -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (12/29/2012 5:42:05 PM)

As a newbie, I prefer this site to the others for many reasons - primarily how easy it is to navigate, browse and search as well as the fantastic message boards. One of the things I really appreciate is the insight, observations, opinions and wit of the "regulars" like JeffBC, DarkSteven, Kana, mnottertail, SimplyMichael, ChatteParfaitt, OsideGirl, LittleWonder, AthenaSurrenders, and TheRose4U just to name a few and I'm sure I'm missing many more I respect and admire. I may not post to the boards often but I read them frequently and find myself skimming through responses until I see one from a "regular" because I tend to get the most knowledge (and often entertainment) from these. So for all of you that spend considerable time sharing your knowledge and insight, Thank You!

LaTigresse -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (12/29/2012 5:49:51 PM)

I prefer the way this site is laid out over anything similar.

Without CollarMe, I would never have gotten to read your spectacular and funny post. Or some others that have made being here worth it. It's the people that make it. I mean no slight toward Alpha and her staff here. But hey, they gotta have something to work with. So I want to extend the thank you to the rest of y'all too.

K.

CollarMe has "saved" me from doing a lot of housework.
At the very least, it keeps me entertained when I take my frequent
{self-imposed|union breaks, when I am cleaning/working at home.

Kaliko, you are very witty.
You should consider stand-up!
**Congratulations on connecting with Awareness, I wish you both all
the best!**
