Yes, Happy Father's day to all the dads. I just got back from the cemetary, put some flowers on my dad's grave. He taught me so many things.

Good for you, Level.  I'm sorry your father has passed, but it does me good to see that you're still a loving son to him.

This is the note I got from my Dad this morning...

Kids and grandkids...
Mom and I have split for the East, we will see you later this morning.  Remember, this is "MY DAY"

The Man

I adore him! I gotta go get his cake in the oven.  German chocolate with homemade filling, just in case ya'll are interested.

ty for the Happy fathers day

I remember my father well . I have strived all my life to be like him . I idolized alot of him . the way he could control a situation with just an eyebrow raise and a look .... or a finger point .. I hated those growing up but I knew he meant business at that point .. never got loud . never lost it not once.
it's funny ... now that I am a father I find myself saying things he would say to me ....... like as long as your under MY roof or ... nothing in the rule book says I gotta be fair. I love my father and he is sorely missed these 27 years.
now I sit here and wait to hear the words myself ..

I am single parent and gave up all the luxuries most men get . BUT it was my choice to get custody of my oldest son . and to raise him the best I could and thats something I will never in this world regret. I love my 2 sons with all my heart .....

so thank you to Everyone who wishes me Happy Fathers day

Happy Fathers day to all the Fathers.....

Having been born to 2 parents who had no interest in child rearing i always love to hear about folks who actually appreciate their parents for being there and being parents...instead of taking the fact for granted.  It's certainly not a "given".

maybe because of my fathers involvement with me .. even tho I am told he was around very little due to work . I still remeber and only remember the small things .. bowling with me on sunday mornings ... taking me to football practice ... I try and do the same for my kids ... He would have stood by me no matter what I did ... Iwas his son . his only child .... decades later I find myself the same way . no matter how much my kids drive me nuts or make me angry for things they do I make sure I tell them ...... I AM your father .... and I will stand by you thru thick and thin ..... no matter what it is. See we often do become our parents

what hurts me the most I suppose is next week .. is BOTH mine and my fathers birthday .. so now this week I sit and suffer with depression over this ... always bad around here for a few days around this time of the year

Maybe, when You feel sad or depressed about those things....You should try to only think of memories that make You smile...and rejoice in the fact the He led by example, and  left You with the tools...to be the father that You are.?

Happy Happy Fathers day to all.
Tamer, I know exactly how you feel, mine and my mothers birthdays are two days apart..and I buried my mom the day before my 18th birthday...so that week is always so painful and depressing for me too.  But what I do is try to remember all the wonderful times we shared in the time we had and it helps.....((hugs))

but happy father's day to all the fathers out there. :) *hugs*

I understand how you feel I was born to 2 parents that either didn't care or were unable to raise Me & now that I'm older they want My forgiveness... FUCK that!!! My mother lives in Fla. (Thank God) & whenever I see My father I avoid him before he sees Me...
I've tried to be the best parent I could be  never letting Mine feel unloved or like they have to face things alone...
