But, that is only here on this site, you see in the formal philosophy ad hominems have two parts the attack, either abusive, circumstantial or tu quoque has to be made AND it cannot have a bearing on the discussion. Only then is it a personal attack. If it is factual and part of the reason of the view, it is not a personal attack, it is just a compelling reason against. The Four Alters were vicious nasty pricks who were attacking anyone and everyone without let or hinderance. (not ad hominem, FACT and endemic to the view.)

As I stated earlier. there are ways of making your point without it technically being a personal attack. For Example: Any individual who maintains that opinion is little more than a walking rectum. or Any individual that maintains such a position on the topic has a severe problem, meaning that every time he/she has a bowel movement their IQ drops by 50% or Any individual feeling that way about the topic needs to insert his/her head into their anal orifice so their brain can have direct access to their mouth. There are other ways of wording these ideas, but you get the gist of my meaning.

and the problem? So it turns into p&r. I personally have no problem with that. The only reason I don't post much in p&r is just that I find most political talk to be boring. I'm not bothered by the bickering and rants. It's kinda a survival of the fit kinda thing for me.

there's lots of forums online with no moderators. They've been around for years and still going strong. I belong to quite a few and Master are on a few as well where there is no moderation. Bdsm sites are the only sites I've ever seen it be a problem. ETA: Oh and those sites get into worse conniption fits and tearing each other apart worst than here. For me this is nothing and just reminds me of recess time on the playground lol. Bdsm sites always seem to be much more sensitive. Dunno why.

There's a group that was formed on Fet that tried the no moderation approach. It was rather lively at first but that was short lived. It's now pretty much down to a small handful of people who occasionally post the same bickering type posts. You suck. No YOU suck, is basically what its come down to. No one else posts much anymore. It's a snoozer.

The Usenet discussion groups are a good example of the anarchy that can ensue when nobody is moderated. I had my fill there of no moderation. Survival of the fittest? Like this is some WWE battle royal. I guess the 'last man standing' approach appeals to some. Not to me.

Dunno why. i agree with this. while other vanilla sites i belong to do have some moderators, of which i have also been a moderator, they are not there to police the forums. they are generally there to offer advice, find glitches, and act as a go between if one member can't get in touch with another that may have left. generally people are left to there own devices. bdsm and swinging sites are the only ones where i've ever seen mod's ripping out posts, or thread for people going off topic/deviating, or telling it how it is. needles

Moderators to my knowledge don't suck. I have been on this site 8 or more years with a standing invitation to ALL girls...................nothing has ever occurred. It may be that they are all guys scamming as girls, check your inbox, most of them from Nigeria anyhow. Quote as necessary.
