Best Corn Bread

1 c corn meal
1/2 c whole wheat flour
1/2 c wheat germ
5 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

1 cup low fat or no fat PLAIN yogurt
3 eggs, beaten
1/4 safflower oil
1/4 honey

Combine dry ingredients, combine wet ingredients, mix together (do not beat) and pour into greased pan. Bake 30-40 minutes or until top is springy when touched. 350 degrees

Venison Barley Stew

2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 pounds venison stew meat - chunky
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 carrots, chopped
1 tablespoon Soy sauce
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon salt
3 cups water
1 cup barley

Directions

First dredge the meat in flour, then brown it in oil. Reduce heat a touch and then stir in onions, garlic. and carrots. Saute about 10 min, then transfer everything into crock pot. Add remaining ingredients and cook about 6 hours, or until meat is tender.

Remove bay leaf before serving.

MOLASSES AND RAISIN MUFFINS
2 cups flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup blackstrap molasses
1 1/4 cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup raisins


Combine dry ingredients (flour, wheat germ, baking powder and salt). Stir together vegetable oil, blackstrap molasses, milk and egg.
Mix together dry ingredients with liquid ingredients; add raisins.

Bake in a preheated 350°F oven in well greased or paper-lined muffin pans until a toothpick inserted in center of a muffin comes out clean (about 20-25 minutes).

Cinnamon Honey Butter .... its so good unless on a diet. I put it on Cinnamon buns.

1/2 cupbutter, softened
1/2 cupconfectioners' sugar
1/2 cuphoney
1 teaspoonground cinnamon

In a medium bowl, combine butter, confectioners' sugar honey and cinnamon. Beat until light and fluffy.
