Venison Barley Stew 2 tablespoons olive oil 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 pounds venison stew meat - chunky 1 onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 carrots, chopped 1 tablespoon Soy sauce 1 bay leaf 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme 1 tablespoon salt 3 cups water 1 cup barley Directions First dredge the meat in flour, then brown it in oil. Reduce heat a touch and then stir in onions, garlic. and carrots. Saute about 10 min, then transfer everything into crock pot. Add remaining ingredients and cook about 6 hours, or until meat is tender. Remove bay leaf before serving. Black Strap Molasses
