I haven't been lucky enough to have a whole lot of real life experiences, but those that I have had have always been based on thorough getting to know what the sub wanted - and mind you, it's been the sub as much as me who were eager to make sure things were laid out and clear in advance of the action.
Maybe I've just been lucky and ran into intelligent people. Then again, I've been approached by some who hadn't thought anything through and were approaching me from some far away Fantasy Land (apropos fantasies and fantasizing, one young woman wanted me to kill her... Yeah, THAT's gonna happen, for sure!), but I never took it to where I might actually meet them.
I'm sure I'll have my share of being stood up if I begin experimenting more with dating people who don't know me off the net.
