I haven't had "sock" accounts, created to talk with myself on the message boards or stir up shiite. There's been at least half a dozen accounts since I first came here; for the first several years I used to get burnt out easily and would leave. Sometimes life just got to busy to spend much time here, or else a computer died.
I cannot remember the old names I used only in the mail room and in the chatrooms. Sometimes I would come back after being gone for several months and wanted to participate in the Lobby chatroom but not have any private chats going on, and I made up a name that reflected this. (My old usernames deleted just fine; it was easy to check up on females listed in West Virginia.)
After the first two years I settled into my last "final" name. Three computers ago, maybe four, it crashed and unfortunately I'd had my passwords to everything (yahoo email, YIM, AIM, MSN messengers, another email addy, my Ebay and other passwords) saved to a Word document on that computer. I didn't (still don't) know how to make "backup files".
A year after making this new account, I found my old password and went into it to redirect people to this one. I want my old one saved in case people I've lost touch with over the years wish to find me...and it gives me a sense of having a history here. At a site I modded at for two years, everything of me was erased when someone hacked EZ Board. My posts were within everything that went poof.
My username is the same here as at Fet.
I did have a foul up here once. I was here at bo's house, signed out on the CollarMe side but not on the Collarchat side, and closed out the window. My boy went online, signed in under his own username here at CM, on the mailroom side, and somehow saw something in the scroll I guess and posted. Surprise surprise, it posted under my name. He told me about it when I woke up and I went into the thread to straighten things out. He had signed out under the mailroom side but not the message boards' side...so when I signed in on the mailroom side and transferred over to this side, it SAID CynthiaWVirginia, but my post posted as bo's, wonderfulbo1. Aargh, lol.
