If you really think the boards have gone to the dogs, that the mods are crazy, and that your ickle-wickle piece of cheese is being moved without your consent, then just fuck off.

couldn't the same be said then to all those hitting the report button when it's nothing to actually do with them, or legalities?

we all get to use the site, and if some arn't happy with certain aspects of how it's run they have the right to say so, whether you like it or not.

you did have the choice to not read certain threads you know. no-one actually forced you to do it.

so maybe you could take your own advice?

Actually, I think these boards are great, and if I thought they'd gone to the dogs, I'd certainly, my life is way to busy to waste it whining.

So, I'm pretty fucking sure that there's no problem with me taking (or not) my own advice thank-you-very-much.

And you're right, everyone should be allowed to express a view... but for fuck's sake... some of the pathetic bitching I've read really does make me wonder whether these people have a functional real life or not.

it obviously is a bigger issue for you than you think if you have to start a thread berating others in such a way. there are a couple of threads that you don't even have to click into, so don't if it causes you such an issue.

do you have any idea how belittling and dismissive of those people you are being with this thread? and i will include myself in those people seeing as i have complained about certain aspects of the moderation lately. not that i actually care what you think, think away, but don't try telling me, or anyone else that we should leave the site instead of putting our views over.

just ignore the threads and do your own thing.

you go into threads that affect you in a negative way and then whinge about it. which is actually proving the point that i have made all along. people interfer where they should just ignore things and move on.

mostly i like the site, i've also said it elsewhere more than once. i don't always agree with people, but i make my point, or i move onto the next thread. you could just do the same.

Crazy my good man, you KNOW I like and respect you but the very thread title is contentious and begging (IMHO) to pick a fight.

Having said that; I am in the middle on this one. While I recognize it's a free site, provided by the generosity of the powers-that-be, I also understand that we, as members of this community have an obligation (mark the word well, sir) to speak out and to make it as good a place as it can be.

We won't always agree what "good" is and therein lies the rub.

(Did he say "obligation" back there?) Why, yes! I did. It is our duty to improve the experience of this website and the lifestyle and to make people feel as comfortable as we were made to feel, when we first wandered in. Unfortunately, some of us were met by the shit-storm when we got here and managed to stick around, anyway. So, a case could be made that those people are treating people as they were treated.

All that aside, it does seem like all you're doing is bitching about the bitching?

Yeah... well.

And you're right... if you want a community like this to thrive you certainly have to be willing to speak out.

I've done so myself, a few times.

And yes, I agree with you that it's an obligation. Just as I feel an obligation to try and respond to genuine questions and issues in a positive way.

But fuck me.... there is a limit. There is a point at which if I became so unhappy here, I'd just leave, rather than continually whining about the same thing over and over.
