ORIGINAL: LaTigresse I had a grandmother and great aunt that drilled that shit into my head. Whether or not I actually use it, well that's another story depending upon my mood at the moment. It is nice to know I have the knowledge and mad skills, if the situation should arise to need, want to, use them. My grandmother was very much this way, too. Her husband was in local (County) politics and she hosted many a high end dinner. She also taught us about serving, pouring wine, and the like. My mother, on the other hand, came from an extremely impoverished family and background. They were lucky to have food, so no one much cared how the table was set. However, with the career my dad had, she was regularly hosting dinners for high end dignitaries, and with 5 kids, she had to keep an orderly house. So she learned quickly, and was quite a charming and gracious woman when she had to be. But because I've sampled both backgrounds, I don't judge people on their etiquette or not; I judge people in how they treat others. Not sure how to tie this back into shoes, but those are my thoughts on etiquette lol.
