We have like three toy bags. We have canes, tawses, hand whips, straps, slappers, paddles. Pretty much if it's an impact play type toy, we got it.
And if it's something we like, we'll have a few. I bet we have at least four straps of various size/weight/thickness/flexibility.
But yeah, I also like just improving-grabbing the nearest thing and turning it into an implement of torture, making her grovel, bruise and beg.
That's good times.
Plus, there's some artistry there. I mean, any idjit can whip a gal with a belt, but it takes real genius to destroy her with a melon scooper

Interesting. And, oh yes, I do like the idea of a well-rounded Dom who has all the traditional toys as well as the creativity to improvise. Now where can I find one? *sighs*

I will say that my introduction to submission was through an LDR with a Dom who had me make all my own toys and he did have some very original ideas. It just got too weird to be hurting myself for him, but since then I've never looked at everyday objects in quite the same way again. Everything has possibilities....

The greatest toy of all is the mind.
Look at it less as a competence issue than a creativity one.
Some people, they play in the box. And have lots of fun doing so-I'm not knocking that at all. Got all the gear, the leather, latex and lace, the whips and crosses, the spanking benches and racks.
Others, they make do with what they have at hand. The not only play outta the box, they have no clue WTF a box is. And if they knew, they'd have no use for the damn thing anyhow.
They get innovative, original. Do things like have scenes using candelabras and curtain rods, crazy shit, but rarely boring.
Grins,
Course, I've always found that in the end, for most folk, it's not what's being done as opposed to who is the one doing the deed. Seen in that light, the best of all toys always come down to one simple thing, that most elemental human need, touch, and that means his hands are the apex of joy and suffering.

This cannot be said enough. Above all else, human touch wins out each and every time.
