Why do Americans get upset at the sight of a nipple, yet have no hesitation in shooting people ?

well, here in America, people are so afraid of the human body they go to great lengths to "cover" them up. mostly it has to do with the churches here and they're pressure on the government (so much for the seperation of church and state). American churches just LOVE to push their "values" on others.

I'm an American and I didn't get upset over Janet Jackson's nipple and I would hesitate before I shot someone....provided that I had the time.

Despite our moral decay that is suppose to be happening, we Americans as a a whole still treat the body and sex as something not to be seen or heard. Repression is still rampant. some women will even dress with very revealing clothes and then complain when men stare at the parts. Brain, heart and instincts run on seperate frequencies.

Guns and violence we see on TV is just not that personal to most. It is not something we are likely to ever experience firsthand, but naked bodies we deal with everyday so it is more personal. As Michael stated, the church has fed us our society's morals. The nudity thing just being one of our irrational ones. Yes it is stupid.

I don't know, living out in the middle of nowhere Iowa isn't so bad...........I have yet to shoot anyone, only ever had the urge once but I would have had to clean up the mess so I decided against it................AND I have yet to get upset at seeing a FEMALE nipple! So exactly WHAT pray tell is there to feel sorry about???

Whats so awfull about it? In england people are "subjects" not citizens, who have been disarmed and have no rights to defend thesmelves.
We have a constitution which, guaratees us rights, and gives us a failsafe amendment to forcefully remove criminals and dictators from the government.

You know maybe I was watching the superbowl with my young cousin, she doesnt need to see this shit on TV. And no if somebody breaks into my house I wont hesitate to shoot them, and Ill be aiming for the gut so they suffer alot.
But hey we are wild savages, England is so cool they banned all guns so only criminals have them now.

Given that most children in my life were breastfed I am pretty sure they would not be severely tramatized by the site of a woman's nipple..............
Having them see a blood and guts senseless violence bunch of crap on TV.... yeah.......thats going to piss me right off. A naked human body.....ahhhhhh no.

Look althrough history. Controlling the world is what every Super Power has tried to do. Greece, Rome, England, France, Germany, Holland, Russia have all tried to corrupt and controll the rest of the world. It just so happens that it's now the USA's turn.  That's life as well as history and it can't be stoped.
