First, I hope this is the right place for this & anyways... For those do-it-your-self-ers at large, who (like me) enjoy building your own equipment (crosses, horses, wracks, etc) when it comes to the design and blue-printing what do you usually do? Are there any books that you reference, sites or groups your apart of, retail blue-prints you stick to. Experiences (easy mistakes to make, re-purposed tools that make life so much easier...), recommendations, etc, discuss... As for my part, I tend to rely on set images and use Visio a fair amount any more, in days past I used auto-cad & even paint. And once in a while I find my self making scaled mock-ups when attempting to make something "different" or new. As for my preferred medium, hardwoods. As for tools and designs, I will own up to the fact that I've never done anything particularly artistic or unique & have found my current tools to be more than enough to do the job.
