I woud try to find something that is special to the both of you. Is there a favorite sport or something else you both enjoy doing together, maybe a person joke or saying or something between you both. Does he have a nickname for you, like maybe cupcake? You could do one of a cupcake lol.

What does his name mean? Something along those lines?

I guess if nothing else you could get a small heart or intertwined hearts.

I've always like the Claddagh ring, maybe it's the Celt in me lol the heart representing the love and loyalty and the 2 hands clasping it representative of friendship. It's not very personal but it could be personalised with initials within the heart for instance. Just a thought.

My avatar is a runic symbol I designed from my initials. I altered it slightly to include my girl's initials (my main pic on the other side).

Perhaps something similar could be done with something intimate to him and stylized.
