I checked the listings for the television coverage of President Obama's swearing-in ceremony today at 11:00 AM EST today. The four non-cable networks:

ABC - Live coverage of President Obama's Inauguration.
CBS - Live coverage of President Obama's Inauguration.
NBC - Live coverage of President Obama's Inauguration.
FOX - JERRY SPRINGER - LESBIAN STRIPPER THREESOME

"No joke - just fact"

OMG!!! The channel that doesn't have their own morning talk/news shows isn't going to be reporting on the Inauguration?!?!? O.M.G.!!

I wonder what the Fox News Channel is going to have on. I bet the viewership for both channels is different...

I honestly couldn't believe this, so I checked tvguide.com myself.

While it didn't list Springer as being what will be showing, it did say "Local Programming,"...which probably means Springer.

I'm sure Fox will be showing it, really...I have to believe this was an oversight on the part of whatever staffer has as their job to report the station's programming.

Fox News Watch, had themselves a pity party over a recent study showing that Fox News was ranked ninth among all news outlets in the number of questions they got to ask at presidential news conferences in President Obama's first term. "Why does the president not like to call on us?" asked host Jon Scott. "Because he doesn't want to be embarrassed," was Fox contributor Kirsten Powers' response.

Or, they are bucking the trend to show their viewers what their viewers actually want to see (not saying that CBS/ABC/NBC viewers don't want to see the inauguration)?

I don't see the point (and have never) in watching the Inauguration. What is the difference made between when you woke up and after watching it? Has your life actually changed?

Kirsten Powers had been one of the, if not THE, staunchest Obama defenders, supporters, obfuscators on Fox News until she quit drinking as much Kool-Aid as she had been. Truth hurts, eh Lucy?

History trivia: The last time the losing Presidential candidate of a major political party refused to attend the winner's inauguration was when Republican Thomas Dewey refused to attend President Truman's inauguration.

Until today -

Mitt Romney refused to attend President Obama's inauguration today.

So? He lost. He may have had something better to do. And, next year, if the Democrat Candidate loses, I'll say the same thing if he/she decides to not attend the inauguration.

The J. Springer program is without any doubt more informative compared to the inauguration.

While the bar is low (is the inauguration supposed to be informative in the first place?), Springer Show success in being more informative can be debated.

I've never watched the inauguration myself (and didn't this year, either). Occasionally you get a real gem of a speech (Lincoln or Kennedy, for instance), but more often than not you get William Henry Harrison (to take an extreme example).

"No joke - just fact"

The listings maybe. But I had no trouble viewing the ceremony on Fox Local or Fox News.

If I watched it, yes. Minutes lost I'll never get back.

The last inauguration I watched was JFK.  I always try to watch the state of the union, no matter how insufferable they are, and they are..........

Exactly. I did not vote for him and I do not like him and so I see no reason to watch him on television. While I respect the office he holds I do not respect the current man in it or his administration. So why bother watching his inauguration at all today when I could be doing something meaningful with my life?

Certainly, informative to whom? Why should every station carry the inauguration? USA is not quite Soviet Union yet.

I have no complaint with Fox not showing the inauguration, if that is their choice. I have to shake my head and wonder where our country is headed when I see that shows like Springer still have enough of an audience to be on or be aired as reruns.
