Its the worst site I have ever used. People just spend the entire time bashing others to make up for their own insecurities. I don't recommend it to anyone. Does everyone agree?

You didn't find it useful for finding events in your area?

Actually, a good number of people here are a member of both sites. That would make a lot of us trolls if your premise was accurate.

I joined fetlife about 3 months back.

Dunno if I'd agree with your gripes but after years of using sites like CM, bondage and bdsm-online etc, I simply couldn't make head nor tail of what seems an overly convoluted and user-unfriendly format in comparison.

Put it down to me bein' old.... lol I haven't been back for at least 2 months - I voted with my feet.... lol

I don't have any problems with fetlife. It is no worse then facebook as far as people go. If anything facebook is more annoying for me since so many people can not stand that someone may have a different opinion then them and they want to start shit.

I kind of agree. Fetlife is pretty weird, it's an online BDSM community that discourages dating. I hate it for that alone. It's like "Look at all these awesome people that live close to you! Don't try and meet any of them though." And, like any other site, the guy-girl ratio is like 20:1.

I can see why the owners of FetLife and CollarMe and Alt and Bondage, etc... may have an interest in competition with each other, for profit's sake.

Me, a user of these sites... I take what is best in each and focus on that.

Nine years ago, I met a Dom through Alt. No chemistry, but we have a beautiful, R/L friendship.

Two years ago, I met a Dom through CM, and he helped me when I really needed help.

On FetLife, I continue to meet amazing lifestyle people in R/L.

Ultimately, it's lifestyle friends of good character that I seek to meet via these sites. Looking for love... I don't believe in that. I think Cupid's arrows hit me when they do, regardless of where I am or what I am doing.

That attitude may be why I don't get cynical about other members online. Like anywhere, good and bad exist and it's up to me to decide who and what I pay attention to, or not.

So, I think that life is full of trolls... ignore them and give the worthy your time, attention and friendship.
